RUSSIA PASSES CRYPTO BILL IN FIRST READING
Russia’s State Duma has passed a crypto regulation bill in its first reading, according to TASS.
The proposal sets a legal framework for crypto market participants.
The Bank of Russia will oversee licensing and regulatory enforcement. Exchanges, brokers, and financial institutions will be allowed to operate under rules.
The bill also introduces tiered access for crypto investors in Russia.
Non qualified investors may face strict purchase limits. Reports suggest a cap of around 300,000 rubles for retail buyers. Professional investors would not be subject to such restrictions.
The structure aims to balance access with risk management.
