Cypherpunk Jameson Lopp and other Bitcoin developers propose BIP-361 to freeze quantum vulnerable wallets. This could lock dormant BTC like Satoshi Nakamoto’s 1.1M coins, now worth $74B, before quantum computers can steal them.

Mathematics, Physics. This is Dr. Matthew Henderson's (@matthen2) animation modeling a lightning strike by finding the shortest path in a random maze, first by sending out a frontier through the maze — and then tracing it back. (Used with permission)

BIP 361: "Post Quantum Migration and Legacy Signature Sunset" has been published. You can read it here: github.com/bitcoin/bips/b…

Treasury published its GENIUS Act stablecoin sanctions rules on April 8. Same day, Iran demanded bitcoin from oil tankers at the Strait of Hormuz. It had already short-listed stablecoins USDT (Tether) and USDC (issued by Circle). The only other option? Chinese yuan. The law compels stablecoin issuers to freeze sanctioned transactions. Bitcoin has no issuer to compel. Iran chose that rail deliberately. My latest @Forbes piece. 🧵1/3

PQ maybe actually be a trojan horse to implement digital signature schemes with backdoors in them. Note that all PQ signature schemes are standardized by the NIST. Then do some research on NIST and backdoors. Create an imaginary enemy, provide the "solution", that's how you successfully introduce backdoors in target systems.
