We carry the Battle Standard to represent the 142 midshipmen lost during WWII. Fact is we still send our Mids into areas of conflict during Sea Year, below is a picture from rising 1/C DB Caleb Green & 1/C DL Stephen Scroggins off the coast of Iran today.

This Memorial Day, I hosted the next generation of military leaders before they leave Texas for our nation’s service academies. These are some of the most impressive high school students anywhere in America, & I am proud to have nominated many of them. They made this decision out of patriotism & know America is a country worthy of their sacrifice. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their willingness to serve. 🇺🇸
