Yesterday I went to a local church to watch a friend get baptized. While I was there, I kept noticing the girl I’m hugging in this photo. She was waiting to get baptized, and I just felt this pull to go encourage her… like she might not have anyone there for her. After she got baptized, I went up to her and started talking to her. She was there completely alone. She told me she’d been coming to church on and off for 4 years and finally decided to get baptized. I got to pray over her and just be with her in that moment, which felt really special. I share this to encourage you. Don’t ignore those nudges. Gods after our obedience all it takes is a willing vessel to share the love of God

I frequently wonder how many people have looked deep inside and actually asked themselves any of the following questions: "What would I do to protect my wife, children, or grandchildren?" "What line would I not cross? Is that line different for other peoples children?" "Would I act in vengence or would it be to protect others in the future? Where is that line?" And how many have had that conversation with their spouse? I have asked myself hard, specific questions. "Would I do X to save the lives of my family? What if that didn't work? Would I extract information that could save their lives? How far would I go?" I've asked myself that repeatedly. Visualized it to try and understand, how far I would go. I came to the unpleasent realization time ago that the more I understand and see of the evil in the world, the fewer lines I would not cross. It took me a lot of years to realize that as a child growing up in a cult, in a violent, sexually abusive environment, and then spending my teen years in the foster and group system and on the street for a bit, I was desensitized to evil. Not in the sense that I was okay with it, as I had a LOT of anger and rage, but that anger and rage was directed at specific people or situations. Not at evil and those who willingly participate or enact it. As a society (and the Christian church has avidly participated in this) we have densensitized ourselves to eliminate that visceral rage that a healthy psyche should have to certain things. More and more I see people waking up. Realizing evil is real. Not just an intangible, amorphus concept, but true, tangible, malignant evil. And there are people who are willful participants. Who enjoy it, or are so greedy and hungry for power and wealth the will turn a blind eye to it. Colossians 1:21 "At one time you were separated from God. You were his enemies in your minds, and the evil things you did were against God." Psalm 139:19-22 "Oh that You would slay the wicked, O God! O men of bloodshed, depart from me. For they speak against You wickedly, and Your enemies take Your name in vain." "Do I not hate those who hate You, O Yahweh? And do I not revile those who rise up against You? I hate them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies."
