The sudden and untimely passing of Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah, affectionately known as Uncle Sally, has been received with profound shock and deep sorrow.
As Member of Parliament for the good people of Salaga South in the 7th Parliament from 2017 to 2021, Hon. Braimah served with humility and distinction.
I had the honor of working more closely with him when he became the first regional minister for the newly created Savannah Region in the government of President Akufo-Addo. In that role, he demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to the people he served.
During the 2024 general elections, as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Salaga South, I campaigned alongside him across some of the most remote parts of his constituency. Those shared moments not only strengthened our political collaboration but also deepened a personal bond I came to value greatly.
Until his passing, Uncle Sally was a calm and measured individual, a man of few words whose wisdom, courage, and quiet determination spoke volumes.
He was a devoted member of the New Patriotic Party, a true patriot who gave his all to the cause he believed in, and whose commitment endured to the very end.
His loss is deeply felt across the Savannah Region and within the New Patriotic Party fraternity. He will be sorely missed.
May the soul of Hon. Salifu Adam Braimah, and indeed the souls of all the faithful departed, rest peacefully in the bosom of the Almighty until the day of resurrection, when we shall meet again.

In Kalereto in Ghana’s Savannah Region is a spectacular sight, the point where the Black and White Volta Lakes pass side-by-side and then join together.
It is believed that Sumaila Ndewura Jakpa, the founder of Gonjaland died in a battle there.
Folklore passed to generations say that his boat has been spotted on the side of the lakes by some individuals.
To date, very lucky tourists spot the rare image
of the boat
