It’s important to remember the previous owners had run it into the ground, with the intention of building houses on it

@71_alec @AgitChevis Teeside airport made a 6.5m loss in the last financial year. Blackpool Airport is owned by Blackpool Council which is 570m in the Red, no doubt a portion attributed to the airport. What’s your definition of thriving?

Bristol Airport’s reaction to investment in Cardiff Airport is nothing short of disgraceful. @Splodgehappy We should close most of the airports in the country, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol or Cardiff, Luton, Gatwick, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Ldn City, Leeds, Newcastle, Cambridge & Norwich, Blackpool and Perth. We should then consolidate transport links to the remaining airports.

The Greens were saying last week that no one flies into Luton (in Bedfordshire) for tourism. They do now.
