Is that it?! When I heard there was grumbling and pearl clutching about pedestrianising streets for a massive event I wondered what all the fuss was about and now I can see it’s only city hall to the art college I have two words for the grumblers whoever they are. WISE UP.

The Assembly Rooms is to receive £200k of investment from the World Monuments Fund:

The heart of Belfast's busy Cathedral Quarter is, as of today, a pedestrian zone. A sign appeared today following years of debate around Hill Street, which is the cobbled laneway, that is often much busier at night than during the day, is the focus of a 6 month pilot scheme.

Hill Street will be pedestrianised for an initial six-month period from today - signs only, no bollards.
"The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) will keep the experimental scheme under review... which can be extended up to 18 months."

Great to see the scaffolding come down at Cathedral Buildings on Donegall Street.
The site has undergone what looks to be a very respectful programme of restoration, following a devastating arson attack in October 2022.
