£500,000 put into this project so far, just for Belfast City Council to destroy this green space.
Hopefully not.

@SaveCQBelfast Amazing news on the Assembly Rooms but just curious I’m assuming we have no update on the TriBeCa scheme. Also whatever happened to the two hotel schemes on Waring street one at the Nambarrie building (for a Moxy hotel)and one at the old war memorial, are they still going ahead?

@Johnnyspireite7 @FIFACentro 1983 Liverpool also won the European cup, league and league cup
English

@FIFACentro Er...would he like to look back in history? Man Utd (1999) and Man City (2023) have done 'the Treble' (League, FA Cup & Champions League) and Liverpool did the back door treble (FA Cup, League Cup & UEFA Trophy in 2001). Arsenal could be the first club to do the Quadruple though.

@TrBrk @Bt7Resident And no doubt an awful lot more if everyone knew about it

A delayed £450m revamp of Sirocco Quays in Belfast could be back on track amid renewed plans for the site
belfasttelegraph.co.uk/business/north…
English

@CllrMichaelLong Will that also include removing the graffiti on North Street/ Donegall Street/ the front and rear of Writers Square that seems to have remained in the area ever since the TriBeCa acquisition

"I think this will make a really big difference." £750,000 has been set aside by Belfast City Council to remove grimy footpaths and graffiti. @CllrMichaelLong welcomed the funding boost.
English

@RyanMcAleerbiz Maybe they could also remove the graffiti- I’m assuming no news with regards the so called TriBeCa scheme . Surely there’s only so long they can ignore the subject
English

@StephenNolan @SeamasBelfast @SammyMorrison82 Why don’t we think about using the Scirocco works site for something other than a waste land

Demand for GAA pitches outstrips supply, finds Belfast City Council - does that justify calls for more GAA pitches?

@CircleLineBT @BelCathedral Absolutely not, the space is crying out for help. All you need do is look at other great cathedrals around the world. Remove the fencing remove the car park and cars!!
English

Are we making the most of the space around @BelCathedral?

CircleLineBelfast@CircleLineBT
Meanwhile in Belfast... We loves a car park.
English

@CllrMichaelLong Maybe the council could look at cleaning up Writers square. Removing the graffiti, and areas around TriBeCa that seem to be lost in time

“This was an oven-ready pitch, ready to go.”
No Councillor McKay this is a wildflower meadow and one of the few refuges for wildlife within Belfast that is loved by the community and we'd like it to stay thankyou.
If you had asked the local community you would have found that the vast majority prefer the wildlife meadow that exists already and have no desire to see another synthetic sports pitch.
When you vote for your local representatives, wherever you live and whatever political party they are a member of, it's important to know their track record on genuine environmental issues.
The idea that local politicians would want to bulldoze a beautiful inner city wildflower meadow to make way for yet another sporting facility is utterly ignorant to the plight of wildlife in this country and the desires of the majority of residents in the community.

Ray Leonard offered to meet Hagler halfway at 154. Leonard would move up one weight class and Hagler would move down one weight class. Hagler sneered at this. He called Leonard a sissy for suggesting it. He demanded Leonard jump 2 weight classes to fight him. Every name fighter on Hagler‘s record is a little guy who moved up from lower weight classes, for Hagler loved to fight smaller men. He was too much of a coward to move up in weight to face a bigger man himself, and refused to do so his entire career. He was terrified of Michael Spinks, for example.

@AnfieldEdition Alisson is a disgrace this season, saves nearly nothing, makes mistakes and is terrible with the ball. Time for Mamardashvili to step in
English

@ireland_society Almost the entire row on the right demolished and replaced to this day with a semi derelict car park.
