I'm thrilled that the Make All Votes Count Act of 2024 has been deemed 'proper subject matter' by the @Vote4DC. I appreciate everyone who testified in the hearing earlier this week, both pro and con. This is how democracy works. Now ... let's get to work on the next phase.

Quick update to this story: The D.C. Board of Elections will hold another meeting on Friday at 2 p.m. on whether a ballot initiative on ranked choice voting and open primaries could actually be placed on the ballot. They could announce a decision then. dcist.com/story/23/07/18…

When explaining RCV, either u use a good visual like this, OR just explain it from the VOTER PERSPECTIVE: "Vote for your favorite and rank your backup choices. If your first choice is in last place, your vote moves to your next choice. A candidates wins when they get >50%."

@RepKatiePorter I’m the owner of a restaurant chain that pays on average $16/hr. min wages. We’ve opened three new locations this year and have received well over 100 applications for each. There is no labor shortage, there's a wage shortage. There is an over supply of corporate greed.
