I am also a bartender in #WashingtonDC. I started doing so because of the tips, which helped me get out of debt to hopefully, own a home. #Initiative82 would destroy this. It would cut my hourly pay by 50-75% (I did the math being in finance), derailing my #homeownership. #NOon82

If your voting today and still undecided, Vote No on #Initiative82. It doesn't address the root causes of wage theft, and is seen in low barrier to entry industries such as construction and domestic care. It won't improve worker pay for support staff, it eliminates the position.

On @VoteNo82, initially I was very undecided on this. I enjoy the European system of no tips. But I have asked almost every server/waiter we have had over the last 6+ months and literally 95% of them were adamantly against eliminating the tipped wage.
