Firstly, a really exciting project from the makers of @zcashme, it’s called Zcash Names.

The idea is simple but profound, Shielded transactions with a simple name instead of long addresses.
For example Anonymist.zcash.
It’ll help with multiple issues, namely (… see what I did there 😉) removing the need for long complex strings and improve trustworthiness between sender and receiver.
With ETH and SOL giving similar options, it’s great to see this move from the $ZEC community.

Threadguy reveals Google's quantum paper mentions ZCash 38 times and says the research is too dangerous to release publicly

If you send a shielded txn right now, how many other shielded Zcash are there that it could have transacted with? If you send XMR right now, how many XMR in your set? The anon set is 5M for shielded Zcash. Check ZECprice.com What's XMR? 16 going on FCMP+++? XMR addresses are on-chain and txns are not encrypted. Without transparent turnstiles, can't audit supply (which is why it's not on exchanges). The use case for Monero is catching predators. Have fun

First off z cash has never been fully private. No comparison
Secondly, shielded transactions leak keys, aka nullifiers, no one uses them, how do you figure the anonymity set is beneficial in any way? You pulled a couple cards about supposed comments from chainalysis, but youre Stevie wonder about all the Zcash screenshots?
Where did this misinformation start honestly?
Like you know zcash is more at risk than Bitcoin right? Smaller network, elliptic curve cryptography...not quantum proof....

So cool that Google is using the ZK that Zcash primarily pioneered (Zcash brought Groth16 into large-scale production) to prove that Bitcoin is broken without showing bad actors how to break it.

This is wild. Google Research demonstrates a ~20x more efficient implementation of Shor's algorithm that could break ECDSA keys within minutes with ~500K physical qubits. Google is now are more confident on a 2029 post-quantum transition. We are no longer looking at mid 2030s, we could have quantum computers of this scale by the end of the decade. They believe this result is so severe that they are not publishing the actual circuits. They instead published a ZKP proving that they know of the quantum circuit with these properties. This is very atypical, showing Google thinks this is serious shit. All blockchains need a transition plan ASAP. Post-quantum is no longer a drill.

@SaveZcash @kai_xbt Monero's privacy hasn't been cracked. No public break of ring signatures + stealth addresses exists in 2026. IRS/Chainalysis contracts were attempts to crack it, not proof they succeeded. Still the strongest default privacy coin. Zcash cope
