How many historic churches will we lose before it's too late? ⛪ St John the Evangelist Church, Crawshawbooth, Lancashire has stood since 1892, but after closing in 2012, it now faces demolition. Across the UK, historic churches are disappearing. Should more be done to save them?

It's heartbreaking to see a church end up like this. 💔 Every Sunday, these pews would have been filled. Hymns echoed through the building, children were baptised, couples exchanged vows, and families came together to celebrate life and mourn loved ones. But in 2008, St Michael's Church, Dulas, Herefordshire closed its doors. The congregation moved on, and the church was left behind. Today, books still sit on the shelves, the pews remain untouched, and everyday belongings are exactly where they were left, as though the next service was just around the corner. It never came. Now, the silence is broken only by the slow passage of time. With each passing year, a little more of this beautiful church is lost, along with the memories it once held. Here's hoping it isn't too late for this remarkable building to have a second chance.

Now abandoned, Llanllawer Church in Pembrokeshire still hints at a much older story. ⛪ Built in 1860 on the site of an earlier medieval church, it's dedicated to St David, the patron saint of Wales, and stands within a circular churchyard that may date back to the early Celtic Christian period. Even in its current state, it's a fascinating reminder of Wales' ancient past.

History doesn't get much richer than this. ⛪ Chelsea Old Church has welcomed worshippers for over 700 years, survived the Blitz, and was once home to Sir Thomas More's private family chapel. It's also home to one of the finest collections of church monuments outside Westminster Abbey.

This church was once swallowed by sand. ⛪🌾 For centuries, St Enodoc Church, Cornwall lay buried beneath towering sand dunes, with only part of the building visible. It was finally uncovered in the 1860s and remains one of Britain's most extraordinary churches. Today, it's also the final resting place of Sir John Betjeman, whose love of historic churches inspired a generation.

Imagine walking into a church where almost everything you see is nearly 900 years old. ⛪ From England's oldest surviving timber roof to its remarkable Norman wall paintings, St Mary's Church, Kempley is a rare survival from the 12th century. It's one of Britain's most remarkable medieval churches, yet many people have never heard of it.

This isn't your typical medieval church. ⛪ St Peter's Church, Besford is one of the very few medieval timber-framed churches still standing in Britain. More than 600 years after it was built, its timber interior and rare 15th-century rood loft make it one of Worcestershire's most remarkable hidden gems.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ENGLAND: 1099 YEARS OF ENGLISH HERITAGE Today marks 1099 years since Æthelstan united the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms in 927 AD. This is not just a date, this is the birth of England itself. The English built this country. Our ancestors cleared the forests, drained the marshes, and forged a nation from warring tribes. They established the common law, built the churches, and defended these shores against Vikings, Normans, and would-be invaders for centuries. They were not "Britons" in the modern political sense. They were English, they spoke English, and they lived by English custom. They created the England we inherited. This heritage is being erased. The establishment tells us we have no indigenous culture, and they say England is just an "idea" that belongs to everyone. They are wrong. England has an ethnic core, it has a history, and it has a people who built it, defended it, and passed it down through generations. Happy birthday to the English nation. Long may she endure, and long may her people remember who built her.

A GROWING INTEREST IN JESUS IS BEING REPORTED ACROSS THE UK Church leaders across the United Kingdom say they are seeing renewed interest in Christianity, particularly among younger people searching for truth, purpose, and hope in an increasingly uncertain world. While researchers continue to study how widespread this trend is nationwide, many local churches report more young adults attending worship services, joining Bible studies, asking questions about the Christian faith, and exploring who Jesus is. For many believers, these reports are an encouraging reminder that the Gospel continues to change lives, even in places where Christianity has often been described as declining. Jesus is still drawing people to Himself. The Gospel is still transforming hearts. And God's work in Britain is far from finished. John 6:44 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them.” Isaiah 55:11 “My word... will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire.” Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Please pray that this growing spiritual hunger will continue, that many will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and that churches across the United Kingdom will faithfully proclaim the truth of God's Word.

A Christian nation was born at this point. This was a Christian project by a Christian King - to liberate Christian land - from Danelaw paganism, and to establish a Kingdom in unity with Church - the church facilitated the integration, of different people's - and with it, the Saxons, Celts, Danes, became the English. Christianity - birthed England, England is Christian, when English abandon Christianity they deny their heritage and identity. We must now create a new United Kingdom, inspired by this story, free from the laws of foreign gods, where different people are united in a common Christian project, to make many people once more one! The future runs forwards not backwards...
