@coach_kevin_m @PaulSpacey Its a real problem. The best solution is trying to build a small community that plays all the time. That comes with its own set of problems. I still think schools are under utilized. Kids are there all day. They have resources (fields/gyms).

Club Soccer is a $3,000/year babysitting service with better marketing. 15 years coaching. The development ROI at many clubs is a joke.

@PaulSpacey @WalterVarian1 Thats the problem, at least around here, the level of the pick up is so low. It coukd work at the younger ages so a group can just grow together. Still trying to wrap my head around on how to help provide those opportunities. Unfortunately free play doesnt happen much anymore

@WalterVarian1 Agreed, push and advocate for your kid and demand value for what you pay. I don’t know that ball mastery and pick up 5/5 alone is sufficient without intense competition but if they pickup was a good enough level, it’s likely better than 90% of club training anyway!
