I remember watching Wale Davies’ interview on @takingCustody’s Overnight Success with @MayowaIdowu last year and being deeply inspired by how honest his story was. No clear career direction. Moved with the wrong crowd. Got kicked out of uni. Had to restart. Somewhere in that uncertainty, he found music and creativity. Then you fast forward to seeing My Father’s Shadow sweep at the AMVCAs and it just feels rewarding to witness. From @ShowDemCamp shooting their own videos when things went left, helping build an alternative ecosystem, Fatherland Productions, working with @temsbaby on the music side and now Head of A&R at Sony Music Publishing West Africa because of his eye for talent. Creative. Entrepreneur. Executive. Beautiful reminder that sometimes your first talent is only the entry point. The real gift is evolving. And sometimes the detour ends up becoming the destination.
