My Opinion on Xbox Exclusives: 1. Exclusives no longer define platform success. The era when exclusive titles determined the success of a platform is already over. Even if Xbox were to release AAA exclusives every month that scored 11 out of 10, the likelihood of Xbox becoming the number one platform would still be slim. 2. Yet Xbox still needs exclusive games. While releasing games on PC or even Nintendo might be acceptable, publishing first-party titles on PlayStation should be an extremely cautious decision—one that should be delayed until the very last moment. If Xbox continues to release first-party games on PlayStation without much thought, the number of users leaving the Xbox ecosystem will only accelerate. 3. Exclusive features matter more than exclusive games. Backwards Compatibility, Game Pass, Xbox Play Anywhere, and Xbox Cloud Gaming are excellent examples of exclusive Xbox features envisioned by Phil Spencer and past leaders. For Xbox, securing exclusive features that other platforms don’t have is more important than simply stockpiling exclusive titles. The focus should be on identifying what gamers truly need and building an environment designed entirely for them. In the short term, Xbox should aim to create a more comfortable gaming experience than Steam, while gradually adding new features. (For example, in-game text translation powered by AI —something I’ve long advocated—could attract global gamers and break down language barriers.) Beyond that, every innovation should be designed with one guiding principle: how can this genuinely help gamers? In the next generation, breaking down the boundaries between console and PC through collaboration with Windows will be an exclusive attempt that other competitors will find difficult to pursue. However, even this must still be conceived under the sole criterion of serving gamers. @asha_shar @mattbooty @jronald @satyanadella

Ojalá la próxima PlayStation no salga el próximo año; aún estamos lejos de exprimir el potencial de la generación actual. La PS6, por ahora, es innecesaria y, si llega en 2027, probablemente volverá con varios juegos intergeneracionales. Si aún hay juegos que se siguen lanzando en PS4...
