Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit. Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero. We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing. Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run. That’s what New Yorkers deserve. And that’s what we will keep fighting for every single day.

The IHOP site at Cesar Chavez & I-35 was FINALLY sold at auction today. World Class Holdings ran out of legal challenges. From the ABJ: #cxrecs_s" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">bizjournals.com/austin/news/20… "Years after it was first set to hit foreclosure auction, downtown Austin’s IHOP property was purchased by Travis County Exchange Corp. for just over $12.7 million. World Class Holdings, which owned the property through its WC 707 Cesar Chavez LLC entity, successfully delayed foreclosure of the land for years. Cesar Rainey Street LLC has attempted to foreclose on the site multiple times since purchasing a $2.7 million loan for the property in 2020. On May 5, the site was finally sold in an auction at the Travis County Courthouse. The buyer is an Austin-based 1031 exchange company led by Craig and Lauren Dunagan, according to TCEC's website. World Class Holdings CEO Nate Paul was in attendance at the auction but was unavailable for comment and did not respond to an emailed request for comment."

The republican pitch to voters in an election year dominated by the crushing costs of living in this country should be the urgent need for a new marble and gold ballroom for members of the American ruling class to have safer banquets
Acyn@Acyn

Graham on Ballroom: If you don't think $400 million of taxpayer money is a good investment to create a secure facility at The White House, then I disagree. I bet you 90% of Americans would love to have a better facility.

Voters: We want Universal Healthcare Democrats: Okay we'll do that Healthcare Lobby: If you do that, the $20 - $70 million we give you is cut off Democrats: Whoah, we need that money. How about we allow most of the party to vote yes, but we get at least 3 dems to vote no so that it will fail, this way the heat is on those 3 democrats instead of the whole party. This way the party looks like we want to give it to the people, but we cant because those 3 Democrats stopped it.

It's extraordinary how Israel can go on a murderous rampage and steal land from three different countries at the same time and our leaders will look you dead in the eye and say Iran is the rogue state in the region

After so many years reading the New York Times coverage of the Middle East, I think we've taken for granted how much it has affected our understanding of the language regarding Israel and it's behavior. It's kind of the way that AI is affecting our ability to to differentiate between human and AI-generated writing. Over time, we get so used to the AI-generated writing that everything starts to sound the same. For example, I was reading updates from the Times this morning about Israel's actions in Lebanon. When you read a sentence like this: "Israel has been fighting the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in a sweeping ground offensive in the country’s south." You don't come away with a true sense of what's really happening on the ground, which is that Israel has invaded another country and is now setting up what could be a long-term occupation in that country. While this might not seem like a big deal, it's incredibly deceptive, and after years and years and years of reading this type of writing, it has completely skewed our understanding of what is happening on the ground. nytimes.com/live/2026/03/3…
