@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Cleanliness affects presentation, not composition. Composition is the layout and planning of the program, its the transitions, spin and jump placement, etc. Not all PCS categories SHOULD actually be affected by falls, despite the pcs cap existence
English

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs That is what I meant though. It will affect their timing, and I can’t deny how a clean a program is does affect pcs in the judges minds at times where it shouldn’t. I feel like you’re getting a little salty though 💀
English

This is more of a general observation but some of you severely underestimate the importance of the Olympics, it's the biggest stage any figure skater can reach
It's not some waterpump trophy, it's not the first competition of the season either, you can't just ignore the results
🐾@snowhuffs
Oh yall are STRICT with it 😭 years of uncontested domination & historic, unprecedented feats left and right and one loss removes him from the conversation yall don’t play about these ogms huh
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Complex footwork is also exhausting. And takes time. Nathan said in his book that focusing on his PCS caused him to fail his quads, so he chose to focus on his quads. Yuzu was forced to gut his complex footwork to try a 5 quad programs, he hated that, so he chose not to try again
English

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs If they had more time they could recover between non quad elements, but complex footwork isn’t affected by time allotted itself.
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Cause both complex footwork and quads are insanely exhausting and focusing on one or the other will cause a skater to mess up quads of hop turns if they try to do both in such a short time frame
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Like you said, quads exhausts skaters. The time limit prevents skaters from giving themselves time to breath if they want to do both 5 quads AND complex footwork. Hence why that video I linked is longer than an IJS freeskate.
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs If by flop, you mean mess up a jump, that only affects composition if it results in them messing up whatever they had planned after the jump. Just tell me you dont know what youre talking about and go, iliabots never seem to understand this sport, you won't be the first
English

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs It’s not just quad spammers though. Even many who skate few quad programs flop which affects the rest of their composition. it’s no doubt that quads have introduced severe inconsistencies, but hats normal in a developing sport
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Arguably, he DID do it. Just not within the IJS rules. Because it cant be done within an IJS competition due to how the rules are set up.

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs My point is if he could’ve done it he would’ve. You painting it as a willing choice is what I take issue with. It would be a huge feat of athleticism
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Thats literally my point. Skating skills is in the foundation of the sport. Its not called FIGURE skating for nothing, figures took skating skills to do. You literally just reiterated my point: quad spammers sacrifice the core of the sport to focus on quads.
English

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs why did Nathan say that though? It’s because doing that 5+ quad program turns your legs into lead. I believed we’ve seen about 3 skaters who have done a 5+ quad program correct me if I’m wrong. None of them have the best ss, but that’s not the point as of now.
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Yeah, he would've. But no one has been able to do it, not within the IJS rules. Thats the point. Quad heavy programs sacrifice the core of the sport to be done under the IJS rules. As stated by skaters who have tried.
English

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs if yuzuru could put in 5+ quads and still keep complex footwork in he would have done it I’m sure. He loves to push himself both technically and artistically. He chose to prioritize the 4A and was injured at the last half of his career though.
English

@EmT58777 @snowhuffs Transitions and composition. Quad heavy programs sacrifice both of these. Nathan literally talked about not being about to keep complex footwork in if he wanted to do clean 5+ quad programs. Yuzu had the same issue. Go argue with the 2x consecutive ogm if you disagree, not me.
English

@Scarfyfulness @snowhuffs It’s the inconsistency of quads that makes it difficult to skate clean, which affects the quality of the program and its execution. It’s not really that performing 5 quads makes a program barely figure skating. You’re coping a little here

@masqueroarade Genuinely iliabots always show they know nothing about this sport when they talk like Ilia's achievements are the best we've ever seen. His unique achievements are so very few compared to many of the other skaters this sport has seen.
English

@Scarfyfulness Srsly, it's not like only Ilia has historic feats, when all others made the GOAT convo for having historic feats too. If we consider all men, not just IJS, 0 indiv Oly medals truly won't make top 5. Others also won multi WC, Oly medals on top, ratified first time jumps, and more.
English

People arnt even mentioning the 1x ogm, only 10x world champion in mens and inventor of a whole jump in the sport, Ulrich Salchow, and Dick Button was the first to land 2A and 3Lo, alongside his 2x ogm and 5x world golds. Ilia is literally a coughing baby in this conversation.
🐾@snowhuffs
Oh yall are STRICT with it 😭 years of uncontested domination & historic, unprecedented feats left and right and one loss removes him from the conversation yall don’t play about these ogms huh
English

@snowhuffs No, a Yuzuru Hanyu that prioritized quads would've never been a skater Id enjoy watching. Yuzu is very correct in his opinion that quad heavy programs are barely figure skating anymore, they ignore the original goals of the sport.
English

@Scarfyfulness But if he did do it, it would’ve still been an unprecedented showcase of athleticism in the sport and a historic achievement, regardless of how you personally would’ve felt about it, and I have a funny feeling you would’ve loved it.
English

@snowhuffs @yh3xogm Like, saying "well if Yuzu skated like a quad spammer, you wouldnt say he'd need an ogm to be the GOAT!!" is ridiculous, as if Yuzu could've achieved even half of what he did if hed prioritized quads like Ilia has. Hes the GOAT cause he knew what to prioritize and when.
English

@snowhuffs @yh3xogm If Yuzu jumped every quad in a single program, thats not Yuzu. One of the things that made Yuzu the GOAT is him sticking to his ideal vision of the sport, its the reason he never attempted a 5 quad program again: he didnt feel like he was even figure skating when he did try it.
