@SnrtMahTnt I’ll be honest, I’m still here out mainly because, as a former shareholder that voted “no” on the sale, I want to chant “I told you so” as it spirals, flaming, into oblivion.

@MbvBaryonix What I want to know is what the fish were like in Albian to Cenomanian North Africa given how many giant piscivorous species came out of it.

@jayfromtampabay @slayorvizion @stacycay 5) At the same time, I will agree that a state incarcerating a sitting president would cause what I will simply call Problems, even if we only look at the logistical issues and set politics aside. And yes, the capital letter is warranted given the scope of difficulties. 7/?

@jayfromtampabay @slayorvizion @stacycay 4) Re. some of the other charges, such as the documents, I believe that there is a difference between a mistake with a few files that are returned when found and boxes that person tries to retain. Classification aside, they *are* National Archives property. 6/?

@seanfeen @stacycay I would disagree regarding a term of imprisonment at all, as there are a number of cases of record for smaller amounts in election related cases (e.g. Richard Brega) resulting in a sentence of approximately one year, though some of those were to be served intermittently.

@ScholarErrant @stacycay “It’s rare, but not unheard of” is the header of the first article you provided. The scope and extent of his case pales in comparison to the other’s incarcerated for these crimes. It’s just proving my point that the only reason for him to serve time would be purely political.

@DonnyLumpkin03 @AnthonyMKreis 3) Deporting only the parents would require many orphanage-like facilities for the minors, even if only for temporary residence and processing, which history has repeatedly shown is a recipe for severe abuse.

@DonnyLumpkin03 @AnthonyMKreis 1) That would be denying a US citizen of their fundamental right to residence despite their having personally done nothing wrong. 2) Depending on the country in question, they might not have dual citizenship and solely be US citizens.

Birthright citizenship is a foundational concept in American constitutional law. It is a betrayal of the 14th Amendment to suggest otherwise or that it can be discarded with ease. We settled any doubt about this in Wong Kim Ark in 1898. We should not budge one solitary inch.

@tomcolicchio What’s the underlying crime on any of these that elevated the action to a felony and not a campaign finance book keeping error which is the same Hilary had to pay a fine for?

@DonnyLumpkin03 @AnthonyMKreis It states that people born “subject to [US law]” are, by definition, citizens. Anyone that is accountable to US law is, by definition, subject to that law. Thus, anyone born w/in the US (aside from diplomats’ children) is born subject to US law and therefore is a citizen.

@memofifi @stacycay Legally? No. In practical terms? Yes (Unless they turn a wing of the prison into a SCIF, I guess).

@slayorvizion @stacycay 2) doing so to conceal another crime (in this case circumvent legally required campaign finance disclosures), which raises it to a felony. The victim would be the people of the state of New York as a whole. 2/2

@slayorvizion @stacycay I’ll humor you, just once. Violation of NY Penal Law § 175.10, falsification of business records in the first degree, an E class felony. The requirements are 1) falsification of business records, a misdemeanor, and 1/2
