A serious upgrade in goal is urgently necessary for England.
Pickford finishes the competitive part of the World Cup at -3 goals prevented - by that metric he’s been among the very worst GK in the tournament.

Agree England started to retreat before subs due to fatigue. I think the remedy should have been to bring on fresher players in the same system, rather than move to a back 5 which encouraged an even deeper line and invited Argentina on even more, making a bad situation worse.

Same old England. On first viewing I thought Tuchel’s subs were disastrous. On second viewing, the retreat happened beforehand, a consequence of Argentina pushing on & England being exhausted. The three defensive subs did make sense. Analysis here…⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/74485…

Messi’s cross landed exactly on top of Martinez, he took the header and scored the goal. Such precision, in that tense situation, in injury time, makes Messi the greatest.
