The Science Museum mourns the loss of Inger Rice, one of the Science Museum of Virginia’s most dedicated and generous supporters. Inger’s extraordinary philanthropy and steadfast commitment to the Science Museum helped shape our institution in lasting and meaningful ways, including our very own Inger Rice Learning Center. Her partnership, vision and belief in the importance of science education will continue to inspire future generations through the many lives she touched and the legacy she leaves behind.

This morning we transported our guests to the intersection of science and music. All they had to do to get there was step into The Dome!  Prabir Mehta's Sunrise Science guided the audience through the ancient system of Indian raags, not simply as musical scales, but as a profound framework for organizing experience and an example of how vibrations shape tone, frequency and human emotions.
