This is correct. Being part of the solution is much more difficult than being part of the problem. That fact, coupled with the ease of communicating to thousands of people regardless of who you are, creates artificially "important" opinion silos. Folks now have the challenge of filtering through all the noise.

@spikesguides It’s because it’s easier to criticize than create something positive/useful. Most people in this “community” don’t understand guns or shooting well enough to create positive educational material in the first place. Can they encourage, explore, and be more curious? Yes.

The gun community has a problem. 🧵 Why do so many people in the gun community confuse being a miserable snob with being an expert? We need to stop pretending that being chronically toxic makes you an authority in the gun space. There is a large number of people in the gun/mil/prepping space who contribute nothing while being a net negative on everyone else. They bully, belittle, and act superior to anyone who differs from them on opinions ranging from ammo choice to brand of socks. I don't think they set out to be energy vampires but through years of ironic shitposting they have shifted from joking to being dead serious about their views. You can mention that a PSA rifle is fine if you go to the range once a year for fun and they will lash out as if you spit at their mother. These people see earnest attempts at positivity, creating of community, sharing of information or even the propagation of discussion on here and they see it as a target to silence because what they believe is right and you are objectively wrong. I'm not saying that anyone who disagrees with people is in the wrong. The people in the wrong are the ones who see a post gaining traction talking about something they dislike going in and leaving a mean spirited comment in hopes of disrupting the conversation or hurting someone's reputation. I don't know why they do this but whenever they post or say anything on here it is extremely negative and you can practically feel the venom in their words. They label everything as a shill post unless it's about a company they like, they swarm in like flies on a carcass to demean someone when he shows off something he's proud of, they see any attempts at helping others as a grift, every post they see is seen through a microscopic lens to find any imperfection to exploit. That is not the behavior of people contributing to a community, that is the behavior of the Spanish inquisition. They aren't building anything up other than their own internal walls while they are tearing other people down. We need to call out this behavior because not only is it hurting the ability for us to foster a sense of community online, it is actively pushing people away. I'm not saying we need to stop riffing or even light bullying. I am saying that the people who have built their accounts exclusively around being rude and contributing nothing need to be dismissed and arguably blocked.

What's your favorite suppressor and why? Bonus points for low backpressure cans. I wanted to get a Liberty Precision Torch but they're sold out everywhere that has ship to door options. Ideally I want something HUB compatible and to be able to run it on an 8in barrel.

For those monitoring the B&T lawsuit situation - B&T AG just filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed by B&T USA (link to pleading below). A summary: B&T USA sued Defendants, B&T AG, Namada Enterprises, and Karl Brügger personally in Florida to get control over the B&T trademark. B&T AG's position is that B&T AG created the B&T brand, built the products, supplied the products, and remained the real source of the goodwill behind the B&T name. According to the motion, B&T USA was essentially a U.S. licensee and distributor, not the true owner of the brand. So the defendants argue that any assignment of the trademark to B&T USA was not a real transfer of the underlying brand goodwill, and therefore B&T USA is not a true trademark owner. The defendants also argue that the Florida federal court does not have personal jurisdiction over B&T AG or Karl Brügger. Their position is that B&T AG is Swiss, Karl Brügger is Swiss, and the complaint does not identify Florida-based conduct that would justify dragging them into a Florida court. Moreover, the license agreement allegedly points to Switzerland as the agreed forum. Finally, they argue the complaint is a “shotgun pleading.” That is lawyer-speak for a complaint that is too vague, conclusory, or confusing for the defendants to know exactly what claims they are defending against: Plaintiff(s) failed to clearly identify the facts supporting each legal claim. The motion is pretty aggressive and I think it has a good chance of prevailing at least on some claims. B&T USA will file an opposition, however. Typically, the Court will grant a motion to dismiss like this one, but give the non-movant the opportunity to amend the complaint. That said, B&T AG makes strong arguments that Florida is not the correct jurisdiction, and this is often not a defect that can be fixed via amendment. We will see what B&T USA's response is and how the Court deals with it. drive.google.com/file/d/1oTn-Jo…

Suppressed AKs are often very hazardous. However, shrinking dwell time and using the right silencer can pay significant dividends! Check out the ejection port hazard changes in the latest research: pewscience.com/sound-signatur…

That's good to know, sir - and thank you. Tone is really important it can skew the Suppression Rating in the calculations. We've seen things that have higher peak blast pressure be safer due to more "low" and "rich" tones. Something unrelated to the KAC coming this week exhibits that.

Guys over at The Team Room in FL have told me it’s a really great tone on that CRS-3. Big improvement from prior models. I’m running the MCQ-1 on my KS-3 and it’s so-so. The MCQ-2 I assume is a bit better but don’t have hands on experience with it. Amazing work you guys have been doing.
