@ORION_coaching @TimHutchings1 Where does that end? From our POV, as "consumers" of the product, it ends with what we saw in Vegas last night. I don't know what useful purpose it serves to criticize people who find themselves in roles of communicating sport, asking them to criticize it? Go to its conclusion?
English

@Scienceofsport @TimHutchings1 When applying skepticism to a performance - not all of them - leads to censorship (of course, we already know it’s par for the course), then a follow-on question should be “Why work for and within a system that, at best, promotes the cheating and, at worst, is apathetic to it?”
English

A load of things; who they hang out with, their coach, their agent, their training partners, where they train, their career progression path (appearing at world class from almost nowhere), the meets they compete in (smaller meets with less testing is a clue)......etc, etc!!

@TimHutchings1 Good shout, Tim. What would be the justified circumstantial doubts? Dodgy coaches and/or agents?
English

@DJ_Jazzy_JD ...off-label use, if they so desire (medical ethics notwithstanding). But for elite sports achievement to be used as supportive of that campaign? No, thanks.
English

@DJ_Jazzy_JD ...they weren't. Instead, they've given a batch of elite atheltes a bunch of drugs, we can only guess at who used what, and will then ask for $399 a month for advice. That's not a legit, honest proposition, it's a grift. Medical doctors can handle the prescription of drugs for
English

The #EnhancedGames package was a tepid, hollow affair. Missed its mark by more than its doped athletes missed the world records that had been so hyped. An illegal swimsuit was star of the show. I hope the anti-climax hurts the bottom line of this grift. Or they can sell swimsuits
English

@ORION_coaching @TimHutchings1 If the guy in the role of world 'communicator' made an allegation of doping against a current athlete, no matter how strongly held, and even likely, he'd find it was the last thing he ever said behind a mic, though. He might "know", but if it's now what you know in that role.
English

@Scienceofsport @TimHutchings1 Where this ‘misses’ a bit is the athletes are already known quantities. Opinions of cleanliness or doping already exist. It’s not wrong to believe in the former. However, believing the latter and saying nothing before, during or after said athlete competes simply supports omertà.
English

@ORION_coaching @TimHutchings1 ...instinct & knowledge. If they did, they'd very soon be replaced by people who have no desire at all & who actively deceive people about the issue. Ideal world? Everyone would be candid. But there are enough people willing NOT to be that we need 'prudence', if that makes sense?
English

@ORION_coaching @TimHutchings1 I raise this only because it's a real issue for anyone who wants to talk about sport. If I discuss cycling the morning after Flanders, I *KNOW* what my mind says about what I saw the day before. Similar for a 1:59. But guys like Tim can't actually do their job if they follow that
English

@fitzr1189 Indeed, he wasn't even the fastest man in the world this weekend!
English

@Scienceofsport I'm also not following their logic about how "almost" breaking the record could make someone the world's fastest man
English

"Almost". Hilarious. 0.06s slower than Oblique Seville, who came 8th in the Paris Olympic final!
But hey, he made big money, so he's laughing too. Meanwhile, in 3rd, at 10.39 (ALMOST breaking the U14 World Record!), Bracy earned $75,000.
Grifters sticking to the story, though
Enhanced Clips@enhancedclipper
WORLDS FASTEST MAN 🏃♂️ Fred Kerley almost breaks the WORLD RECORD and wins $250,000 at the enhanced games tonight
English

@KarlBristow @DJ_Jazzy_JD Exactly. And your 'doping periodization' folk, plus the ones who take out just a little blood, put just a little back, enough to stay beneath ABP limits, those who dope a little and miss a test, those who take cortisone, but only out of competition. Micro-dose, micro-benefit
English

@Scienceofsport @DJ_Jazzy_JD You've got your Ben Johnsons who say f it, take that Dianobol right up to the race, then you've got your Wiggins/Farahs, the intellectual dopers. I've got asthma/overactive thyroid, so it's ok to take PEDs. So there's two types of dopers right there!
English

@T_BALLER6 If that's what you took from that, then maybe try again, but with comprehension this time.
English

@Scienceofsport Oh now we are complaining about athletes getting paid in sports that are severely underpaid.
Always something.
English

@MeatBadness ...live in a binary world where some people are pure and clean, and others are dopers. There are differences in degree. As for EH grift, last night was a sales pitch for anti-aging medicine to middle aged non-athletes, and I'm pleased the pitch was a flop.
English

@MeatBadness ...performances we see there. I don't think they're doping as much as these guys, the anti-doping system 'works' insofar that it constrains the scale of doping, forcing micro-doping on athletes to avoid detection. But people are naive if they think it's 'clean'. But we don't
English

@vincristine Massive donors from that world of "tech bros" in the USA. They include Don Trump Jr's fund, Peter Thiel, founder was tech entrepreneur Aaron d'Souza, Christian Angermayer. All billionaires with major interests in anti-aging: enhanced.com/newsroom/seed-…
English

@Field_1995 @sportingintel @RMcElhenney We were? Some claimed to be clean, some we know doped. that's about the same as the Olympics, I'd say. We are none the wiser, and even in those who doped, we know basically nothing, specifically, about how. Those guys can sell swimsuits, maybe there's a business model for that
English

@sportingintel @RMcElhenney At least all were on an equal playing field being geared up unlike the Olympic Games.
English

The "Enhanced Games" produced 1 WR (for 1 swimmer, on drugs, in a banned perf-enhancing suit, by a tiny margin). And wins in 2 events for "clean" athletes. A joke of an event thus moved to farce. Was always going to happen. Wrexham's @RMcElhenney must be so proud to be involved!
English

@DJ_Jazzy_JD Much of that crowing, of course, was coming from the grifters who, for only $399 a month*, will advise you on how to become enhanced too.
* drugs not included
English

@Scienceofsport What I find amazing is the crowing from people who make claims backed by zero evidence and/or logic. Like, of course guys 10 years past their prime aren't going to beat records.
English
