Building together a prosperous and empowered ‘Sonar Bangla’ 🇮🇳 Many thanks to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @SuvenduWB for aligning West Bengal with the Telecommunications (Right of Way) Rules, 2024. This is a significant step toward strengthening digital infrastructure and accelerating BharatNet’s implementation across the state. For years, the people of Bengal remained deprived of the full benefits of several transformative flagship initiatives of the Central Government, causing the state to regress in pace while much of the nation moved ahead rapidly in digital infrastructure and connectivity. Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji and through the spirit of double-engine governance, this landmark step will further enhance connectivity, expand digital access and strengthen last-mile service delivery for every citizen.

Taking Northeast tourism to new heights, quite literally! 3,200 meters above sea level and a breathtaking 3.2 km ropeway ride through the skies, Bhaleydhunga Skywalk is set to place Sikkim on top of the world with what is expected to be the world’s highest skywalk.

Had the joy of kicking off a pulsating #SikkimPremierLeague Semi Final between Singling SC and Yangthang United FC at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi. Under Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s vision, the Northeast is steadily emerging as Bharat’s sporting powerhouse. Through the high level taskforce on sports led by @MDoNER_India, we are together strengthening grassroots talent, coaching and sporting ecosystems across the region. Tea at its most elemental and most extraordinary! Today’s visit to the Temi Tea Processing Unit showcased what disciplined, organic agriculture can achieve. From the freshly plucked leaf to fermentation, drying, and final packaging, every stage at Temi speaks of a standard that commands global respect. Temi is Sikkim’s only tea estate, perched high in the Himalayas with Kanchenjunga as its eternal witness, certified organic and recognised in the finest tea houses across the world. This is PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s vision of ‘Vocal for Local’ as a living, breathing reality manifest in every leaf.

Walked through the lush, misty Temi Tea Gardens in Namchi, Sikkim today. Spent time and interacted with the incredible hardworking tea pluckers and garden workers in the Tea gardens today. Tried my hand at tea plucking too and very quickly realised the grace, speed and effort it truly demands! My sincere respect for the skill and dedication of the pluckers who put their heart and soul into it.

Top of the morning from the beautiful hills of Namchi… Visited the upcoming Khangehendzonga Sikkim State University campus at Tarku, a pioneering institution poised to shape the intellectual and academic landscape of Sikkim for generations to come. Reviewed the progress of the administrative block and emphasised that the campus architecture must gracefully reflect Sikkim’s natural splendour, cultural essence and deep ecological consciousness. Spread across 28 acres and supported in part by the North Eastern Council, the university is envisioned to nurture over 1,500 students.

An honour and a matter of immense pride to launch the ₹190 crore “Mizo Ginger Mission”, a landmark initiative anchored in Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji’s vision of empowering farmers as rightful stakeholders across the entire agricultural value chain, from cultivation to global commerce. With its exceptional quality and globally competitive oil content, “Mizo Ginger” carries the potential to emerge as a distinguished global brand. Rooted in the pillars of convergence, value addition, branding and market integration, this mission seeks to strengthen processing infrastructure, enhance traceability and ensure that greater value and recognition flow directly to the farmers of Mizoram. I congratulate the people of Mizoram, especially our hardworking Annadatas, whose dedication and resilience form the foundation of this transformative movement. This initiative marks our long-term commitment towards building a globally respected “Brand Northeast” and unlocking sustainable prosperity for nearly 20,000 farming households across Mizoram. From Mizoram to markets across Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe, the journey of Mizo Ginger has only just begun.

Took a stroll down the iconic MG Marg in Gangtok, picked up a traditional pure silk Bakhu, and also stocked up on local favourites like Dalle paste, titaura and dried plums. There is truly no better way to celebrate Sikkim than by soaking in its colours, culture and flavours! P.S. The ever-efficient UPI is making transactions seamless in these hills too 🇮🇳
