@BikeWalkRVA Nobody's blaming anybody. But as that road gets more popular, I wonder how proactive people are being about putting safety measures in place before other people get hurt.
@ScoliBackRelief Inaccurate. The battlefields have several entrances from Osborne (and where Osborne turns into Kingsland). There's also a park with bathrooms at the boat landing and the Lilly Pad). Osborne should be improved, yes, but backwards to blame riders who have ridden there for decades.
Many of you have heard and been shaken by new of a heinous crash on Saturday wherein an 18 y.o. drunk driver killed a cyclist and critically injured another. Below are some links to help the family of Jonah Holland and to help Natalie Rainer with medical costs. 1/5
@Jeb_Hoge@BikeWalkRVA But it does matter And I'm hoping that this will start a dialogue and encourage people who enjoy biking safely on these backcountry roads to call the city council in East Henrico and demand improvements.
@ScoliBackRelief@BikeWalkRVA None of which matters considering that the driver was drunk and the collision happened on a straight section of road with high visibility near an intersection.
@ajsommer@BikeWalkRVA Good points, perhaps there should be a "bikes only" lane on the trail. The trail has increased the popularity of Osbourne with bikers, but w lots of large truck traffic & big ditches and no shoulders, unless improvements are made this terrible accident will not be the last one.
@BikeWalkRVA@ScoliBackRelief Also on weekends, many road riders (almost as a courtesy) avoid the Capital Trail, as there’s often lots of family traffic in the stretch between downtown and 4 mile, and the Cap Trail itself can be hazardous to maneuver
@BikeWalkRVA The battlefields are lovely but aren't on Osborne Turnpike. Your freedom to travel wherever you want does not guarantee your safety and, without improvements, Osborne has no shoulders, blind curves, and is a dangerous road for bikers.
@ScoliBackRelief There are lots of answers: Many people ride the Capital Trail to Osborne Tpke, making a loop in the battlefields, and return on the Capital Trail. That road has been a fixture for bike riders for many decades. Bike riders are free to safely go where we want.
BREAKING: Trump’s stolen documents may have included records showing the identities and methods of agents spying for the US.
Such intelligence records — and nuclear records — CANNOT be declassified by the President alone. So there is no way it was legal for Trump to have them.
Newsweek reports that the documents Trump stole include payroll records for US spies.
Exactly the kind of thing for which Putin or Saudi Arabia would pay the Trump family billions.
Was there a bidding war the Saudis won with their $2 billion to Jared?

@LarryOConnor You won't rest until you can tell the world about your victimization while your boy kept nuclear secrets to the country that did 9/11. It's over. Your party is over. You are over. Finally.
Within hours of Merrick Garland grandstanding over the honor and integrity of the great men and women of the DOJ and FBI, one of those great men of integrity leaked the "nuclear weapons" story to the Washington Post.
@CalebJHull For the multinational corporations that are now required to pay at least 15% after using the United States of America as a tax haven since forever. But you knew that.
If 98.2% of Americans make under $400,000 and the Biden Administration is promising not to audit anyone making under $400,000, why do they need to hire 87,000 IRS agents?
@Chasten There is also an advancement shortage. Unless you want to go into admin, with all of the yearly curriculum & policy changes by the superintendent it is a terminal entry-level job. And now it's life-threatening.
@AndrewYang So you went for the dark money and became the face of the alternative "third party" and are now doing dumb tweets like these. Was Jill Stein photographed in Russia too often for this job?
A stunning move by the DOJ and FBI.
This same DOJ labeled parents in Loudoun County as terrorists and failed to enforce federal law to protect Justices in their homes. Selective, politically motivated actions have no place in our democracy.
@espiers My life has certainly not devolved into being considered a "serious intellectual" simply because I get unlimited publicity to present ideas that other rich people agree with
