@BLackgold_5 Looks like weird wind conditions caught the pilots out and they used more runway than they should trying to get firmly on the ground. Rather than try to get stopped short, they elected to go around again. Probably not fun, but also not unusual.

@MikaRiikonen2 @ka_grieco JDAMs, GPS-guided gravity munitions. JDAMs go up to 2000lb, but JASSM warheads are 1000lbs. Sometimes weapon choice is just what they have available to them, and it's entirely possible that JASSM are being used simply because USAF doesn't want to use something else.

Good grief. He knows. Everybody knows now: 1. The Trump admin didn’t plan out this war and doesn’t have an escort contingency 2. The strait gets quite narrow. Iran can fill that battlespace with mines, drones & missiles 3. The US navy is large, heavy, & expensive. It would 1

CNN: Why isn't the US Navy escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz? SEN. RICK SCOTT: I can't tell you the answer to that, but I think right now it's still a dangerous situation. It's gonna take a while for us to get control of the Strait of Hormuz.

@BocaDuk3 @SGTWipper1Each I was thinking that was a really nose-high attitude coming off the catapult. I wonder if that's from the EMALS giving extra oomph or if it's just the F-35 having excess power (and probably running light) to muscle itself up there? Or maybe just camera aspect playing tricks.

@SGTWipper1Each It’s not going fast enough to pitch quite that high.. The carrier is usually turned into the wind and doing some 20-30kt extra. It all adds up on takeoff and landing.

@ValkStrategy @atlanticcoast60 @aviationarchive As far as I understand, the B-35/49 had issues with both static and dynamic stability, rendering it unsuitable as a bomber or reconnaissance platform. Some phenomena, like sudden pitch-up, weren‘t even understood at the time (or ever).

The fact that all YB-49 airframes were scrapped and destroyed is suspicious, to me. The Northrop YB-49 program was canceled in 1950 amid technical issues, budget constraints, and significant controversy. Jack Northrop alleged in a 1979 interview that Air Force Secretary Stuart Symington pressured him to merge Northrop with Convair and canceled the YB-49 contract when he refused, citing unfair merger terms. Symington publicly denied any such pressure or threats. This led to congressional hearings, but no wrongdoing was proven.👀 Sabotage rumors were fueled by incidents like unexplained oil starvation causing engine failures in 1949 tests and a 1950 ground taxi accident where a nose gear collapse sparked a fire that destroyed the last YRB-49A prototype (the tanks were full which is unusual for testing procedure). And then, following cancellation, Symington ordered all remaining airframes, including unfinished ones, scrapped and destroyed. Just suspicious is all I'm saying. Carry on. 👀

@AlanBalutis @AliceFromQueens OTOH, the General Assembly has been pumping in tons of "let's see what we can get" legislation on the premise that she's going to rubber-stamp signatures across everything. It'll take her signing or vetoing to prove where her heart lies. That's where the panic is.

Can someone explain what Spanberger herself, as governor, did in six hours to transform herself from a moderate to a radical? See if you can answer the specific question I asked, and not a different question you’d rather answer, or imagine I asked.
Meghan McCain@MeghanMcCain

Screw any and all of you who lied to low information voters and sold Abigail Spanberger as some kind of moderate. She’s been in office like 6 hours and is already trying to turn Virginia into Minneapolis.

Who knows... she's a female driver for starters. If it wasn't her usual vehicle to drive then finding the right gear isn't always natural. She's in park, first is reverse, she hits neutral, revs and then shifts to drive? Plus she's mad, pissed off, adrenaline pumping... and probably just wanted to take off like all those drivers you see on COPS - car chase even? She may not have even registered the ICE agent was in her way. It's sad that it happened. I am so glad the ICE agent is physically OK, although mentally, ugh

Tim Pool is right in his analysis. The officer was NOT in front of her vehicle until AFTER she backed up. The front tires then accelerate while they are pointed towards the agent, and appear to spin out on the ICE. This is all the information the ICE agent had in the moment. Also, there was no reason for her to back up to leave. The road was clear in front of her and the ICE agents were to the left and right of her car. The ICE agent only ended up in front because she backed up. This leads me to believe she wasn’t just trying to leave. Chat - what do you think?

Please watch this. The NYT just released a forensic analysis of the murder of Renee Good by ICE and it completely debunks Trump’s claims. No matter what angle you look at it from, it’s clear this was a murder.

@sjredmond @thatsKAIZEN Second and third shots are as she's passing. I'm almost positive that he shot her in the side of the head with his second, and if she'd been on foot, his third shot would have been into her back. There's no justification.

There is no doubt that Renee should have complied. Once all the audio is available it will be interesting if reports that she had received conflicting order from different officers are true. Nobody should hit anybody with their car and I did see the officer take a step back when he was supposedly hit. However, at the very moment he fired the first shot he had already gotten out of the path of the vehicle. The standard isn't if you get hit by a fleeing car you can shoot. I don't think law enforcement training teaches you to stand in front of a car that's in gear either. None of which is to say she wasn't at fault, it's simply to say I find it hard to believe the officer felt his life was in danger when he was standing beside the front quarter panel when he fired his first shot.

This wasn't murder. Renee's death in Minneapolis is tragic. But see it for what it is, not what you want it to be. You can hate ICE. But blocking officers then speeding off in a 2-ton vehicle with people at your bumper is irrational. She rolled the dice. Sadly, she died.

@Spartan04148034 @psyop_sentry @YourAnonCentral Not true and you know it. Shot 1 is fired offset to the windshield but it's a direct line to the driver. Then the agent *fires two more rounds* as the car is passing. Shot 2 (likely the lethal hit) is through the open driver window, shot 3 is after she's passed.

Trump regime ICE troops murdered a US citizen, a woman in Minneapolis. She was shot point blank in the face according to witnesses. Footage shows her drive away as an ICE trooper shoots into her car window, causing her car to lose control.

@Habubrats71 What's even more interesting, they had to invent the paint, fuel, hydraulic fluid, engine oil, tires, control cables, sealants, window material, even the seat covers and foam. There was very very little that was off the shelf about the A-12, SR-71

White bird? Nope, it never happened. Fake Picture! Using a law of thermodynamics, Ben Rich tried to convince Kelly Johnson to paint the A-12 Black. It was very rare for Kelly Johnson to admit he was wrong. Overnight, however, he apparently had second thoughts, or did some textbook reading on his own, and at the next meeting, he turned to me as the first order of business. “On the black paint,” he said, “you were right about the advantages, and I was wrong.” He handed me a quarter. It was a rare win. So Kelly approved my idea of painting the airplane black, and by the time our prototype rolled out, the airplane became known as the Blackbird. Our supplier, Titanium Metals Corporation, had only limited reserves of the precious alloy, so the CIA conducted a worldwide search and, using third parties and dummy companies, managed to unobtrusively purchase the base metal from one of the world’s leading exporters—the Soviet Union. The Russians never had an inkling of how they were actually contributing to the creation of the airplane being rushed into construction to spy on their homeland.” ― Ben R.
