@ScoopsRacing @charlie_deluchi @kc2310 @ricardodafc @plusevdegen But you wouldn’t get 1.4 for the place?
English

@charlie_deluchi @kc2310 @ricardodafc @plusevdegen My general point is that the value in the place bet is probably over estimated considering the lack of value in the win bet. Grand to place at 1.4 makes more sense to me but to each their own.
English

@ScoopsRacing @kc2310 @ricardodafc @plusevdegen Wasn’t the only angle. Complete different set up today, first few furlongs tonight he was almost over racing, I wouldn’t of been wanting to take 1/7 at that time. There was other angles you can take. God forbid someone takes on a 9yo who’s had all sorts of issues at 1/7
English

@charlie_deluchi @kc2310 @ricardodafc @plusevdegen The win bet placed at 15/2 while 12.5 was available. And realistically if the 1/7 fav bombing out in a flat race is your angle at having a chance, the chance is so small it's has no chance really
To me it was a place bet at 1/4 given the race type and the calibre of the 1/7 fav
English

@ScoopsRacing @kc2310 @ricardodafc @plusevdegen Horse did have a chance, seen constitution hill bomb out at punchestown, had 1 flat run and different set up might of caught him out. Also makes perfect sense, had place value
English

@Pmichaelracing They knew what was relevant, they they were thinking of his handicap mark
English

@kc2310 @ricardodafc @plusevdegen Would make sense if the horse had a chance of winning, you've to essentially burn the win bet to get the place bet
English

@ricardodafc @plusevdegen 6/4 a place! To put it in to context it was 2/5 on the machine.
English

@PhilRichards01 @UnibetRacing People were hardly backing him under duress now in fairness

We have very sadly lost the battle to overcome Sir Gino’s ailment and he has had to be put to sleep at the veterinary hospital this morning.
He has been fighting from severe deep-seated infections that he had overcome last year prior to his brilliant return in the Christmas Hurdle but this time it had spread too far although his fractured pelvis was healing well.
He was not only brilliant but one of the nicest kindest horses you could ever wish to see and this leaves an awful hole in Seven Barrows this morning and a very sad day for Joe & Marie Donnelly. They have had some wonderful horses over the years and they both care so much for them so losing such a young star with his life in front of him is particularly cruel.
Sir Gino was unbeaten in all his 7 starts including 3 Grade 1’s over hurdles and an amazing display in a Grade 2 Chase on his one and only start over fences.
We would have to say that he was just at least as good as any of all the amazing horses we have been lucky enough to have trained. Unforgettable in every way.

Can not begin to imagine what Marcus Aurelius would have made of this

@T_J_Carroll I see Robert Heneghan has a second high court action in motion at the moment too.

Given what I’ve read on here. Since and during Cheltenham. Yes or No. Would you chip into a crowd funder for legal fees if needed for Icy to fight this?

@WWWoodzy92 It’s a good post to fish for engagement I give you that. I know you can’t have an IQ low enough to not be on the wind up here
English

@WWWoodzy92 This isn’t relatable to making a horse lose to obtain a better handicap mark.
English

BTW everyone hammers the Skeltons for these types of rides 🤔
James Woods@WWWoodzy92
Oh hang on that was lovely on Nick Rockett 👀 Is 25/1 too big to go back to back in th3 Grand National 🤔
English

@WWWoodzy92 Who in their right mind wants to see a horse whose been injured all year gunned to win a race that he’s most likely not even 90% fit for. Beggars belief that that’s compared to handicapping a horse.
English

@ScoopsRacing They've made a horse lose to obtain a better chance of winning another race 🤔

@knapper_andrew Having been involved in a few, it probably depends what you want. In my experience your not likely to land a touch with the professional syndicate managers or big racing clubs. The best bet if it’s suits your budget is 10 men 10% each and a decent middle of the road trainer.
English

@Handy_Andy96 3 favs stood out the back in the county there expecting a pace collapse, maybe they were weighted out of it but it was a bad look. I’d say they all looked at each other and misjudged it.
English

@Mathewforthh @TheSweeney1988 Not trying to win is exactly cheating. And the fact that it’s so normalised that you don’t even seem to realise that it’s cheating proves my point about the sport.
I love it, but fuck all elite about it
English

@ScoopsRacing @TheSweeney1988 How is laying one out for a race cheating? You don't think that happens at Ascot, Goodwood, York, Newmarket? Come on..
English

It's an elite sport, and the difference in reactions here is probably why one is an elite pro and one is an amateur.

"Being abused by an English rider, Nico de Boinville is not very nice" 👀 "I'm an amateur, I'm coming over riding in front of my kids. HORRIFIC" 😯 Declan Queally is NOT HAPPY with Nico de Boinville 🗣️
