How fuckin stupid is that?

Our Structural Collapse Team stabilized a damaged bank building in frigid conditions yesterday after a vehicle was driven into the structure. At approximately 15:57, the Ottawa Fire Services Communications Division received a request from our partners at @OttawaPolice to respond to Billings Bridge Plaza, located in the 2200 block of Riverside Drive, following reports that a vehicle had been driven into a building. Firefighters arrived on scene within four minutes of dispatch and confirmed that a sedan had been driven through an exterior wall of the TD Bank, entering through a window area and causing significant structural damage. Crews shut down the vehicle, established scene security, and assessed the driver. No injuries were reported among bank employees. The vehicle struck a storage area inside the bank. The driver initially declined medical attention but was later assessed by @OttawaParamedic upon their arrival. A second individual on scene reported that their vehicle had been struck by the same sedan prior to it entering the building; no injuries were reported. Firefighters observed a two to three inch gap between the lintel and the brick façade on the left side of the window, along with damage to the jack and king stud areas. Due to concerns that the structural integrity of the building had been compromised, our Structural Collapse Team was dispatched. The Structural Collapse Team developed and implemented a stabilization plan, constructing a two-post 4x4 shore to support a compromised brick parapet wall façade. Electrical conduits were not affected by the damage. Building management was advised that a sprinkler head had been exposed to the exterior and that overnight temperatures were expected to fall well below freezing. The scene was turned over to @OttawaPolice, who coordinated the removal of the vehicle following the completion of their investigation. We cleared the scene at 18:03. #OttNews
