I’m constantly amazed how much hatred the British museum gets. It’s the greatest repository of ancient knowledge we have. Because of them we know so much about the ancient world and cultures across the globe.
They claim it’s a legacy of colonialism which I guess is true. The reason the British built a research and education facility to study other cultures is the same reason they went out into the world and tried to build it up.

🇨🇳 A Chinese man burst into tears when he saw that ancient Chinese artifacts had been preserved by the British. During the Culture Revolution, the CCP destroyed a lot of Chinese history. It's very sad that non-Chinese people were the ones to preserve China's history.
