The wee SeeStar S30, that I’m running at Starfront Observatories in Texas, continues to churn out the goods! 🔭📱✨ My latest project with this awesome smart scope is an image of M45 aka The Pleiades aka The Seven Sisters! This open star cluster is one of the most famous in our night sky and can be enjoyed with the naked eye, in binoculars or with a full imaging rig…there’s ‘scope’ for everyone to enjoy it… Located in the constellation of Taurus and lying some 450 light years away, M45 is thought to contain over 1,000 stars. The collection of stars which make up The Pleiades are bound together gravitationally, as they meander together through the Universe. The white bluish wisps that give M45 is signature look, especially through a telescope, are actually streams of large dust particles. Go out and have a peek at it, if you get the chance! ⏱️ 981 x 10 secs 🎯 M45 ‘The Pleiades’ 🔭 SeeStar S30 📸 IMX 662MC

Mistakenly copy and pasted image details from my last upload for the Pinwheel Galaxy, so image label should read ‘M51 The Whirlpool Galaxy’ 🤣🤣🤣

The light from the stunning Whirlpool Galaxy made an epic journey through 31 million years of space and time to hit the back of my camera sensor and produce the image you see here! As a ‘face on’ galaxy, from our perspective here on Earth, we can get an idea of its vastness and the intricacies of its structures. The ‘little’ light at then end of the Whirlpool’s hook is actually a dwarf galaxy, designated as NGC 5195. These two cosmic giants are gravitationally interacting with one another and give the Whirlpool its distinctive shape. Discovered in 1773 by Charles Messier, the Whirpool Galaxy lies in the northern skies, amidst the constellation of Canes Venatici. I captured this view of it with a tiny, but mighty SeeStar S30 smart telescope from the dark skies above Starfront Observatories in rural Texas…🔭📸📱🌀 ⏱️ 1314 x 10 secs 🎯 M101 ‘The Pinwheel Galaxy’ 🔭 SeeStar S30 bit.ly/4cn7l8Q 📸 IMX 662MC #affiliate

Galaxy Season is right around the corner, but I thought I’d take my wee StarStar S30 for a scouting trip around the Virgo Cluster! One of the most famous Galaxy groups lies there and it’s a joy to image at many different focal lengths. Markarian’s Chain is situated near the core of the Virgo Cluster and is made up of a string of spiral and lenticular galaxies. This is a busy area of the light sky and is thought to contain around 2,000 galaxies…which in turn contain a mind bending number of distant worlds! Wishing you all clear skies! 🔭📸✨ ⏱️ 1018 x 10 secs 🎯 Markarian’s Chain 🔭 SeeStar S30 📸 IMX 662MC

Despite its tiny size and small aperture, the wee SeeStar S30 does a great job on some of the distant galaxies that we can peak at, from here on Earth! I spent a few hours tracking the beautiful Pinwheel Galaxy and am very impressed with how well it came out, only after a light touch edit. Designated as M101, the Pinwheel is over 20 million light years away and sits in the constellation of Ursa Major, from our perspective. The fact that I can collect ancient light from the depths of our glorious universe, with a tiny…and I mean TINY smart scope will never cease to amaze me…and makes me really excited for the future of our wonderful hobby! Wishing you all clear skies! 🔭📸✨ ⏱️ 919 x 10 secs 🎯 M101 ‘The Pinwheel Galaxy’ 🔭 SeeStar S30 📸 IMX 662MC

@Russell_Archer @zwoastro @Seestar_astro @starfront_obs Thanks Russell! I hear ya mate, I’m in the UK too and feeling the pain of no astro fun in the back garden (for what has seemed like an eternity! 🫣)…I’m lucky to rent a couple of remote scopes, so still get my Astro fix, thank goodness! 🤣🔭

This is the first images in AGES from my remote rig in Southern Spain…the weather has been truly awful the last few months there! First world problems aside, I’m pleased to have completed my study of M67 in the constellation of Cancer, which is sometimes referred to as the King Cobra Cluster…or if you’re a James Bond fan, the Golden Eye Cluster. ;) This loose collection of over 500 stars make this a nice open cluster to image and the vibrant colours of the stars around the cluster itself, frame it rather nicely I think. If you squint REALLY hard, you might just be able to make out some very small, faint fuzzies dotted around the field. This beautiful deep sky object lies around 1,500 light years from Earth and is nicely positioned for us currently up here in the northern hemisphere. Hope some of you are getting some time at your scopes and clear skies to you all! 🔭📸✨🦀 ⏱️ 8h 46’ 🎯 NGC7822 🔭 StellaMira 90ED Triplet 📸 ZWO 2600MM Pro 🔭 iOptron CEM40 ⭕️ Antlia RGB 36mm 💻 Beelink GK Mini

Managed to bag some time on the Monkey Head Nebula with my smart scope in Texas…🐵✨ One of many epic objects in the constellation of Orion, NGC2174 lies around 6,000 light years from Earth. It’s a busy region where new stars are born and the resulting powerful stellar winds have shaped the surrounding gas emissions into its unique Monkey Head shape. ⏱️ 1118 x 10 secs 🎯 NGC 2174 ‘The Monkey Head Nebula’ 🔭 SeeStar S30 📸 IMX 662MC
