I am truly grateful and excited to be able to share publicly what the Lord is doing at @nebcvt. This is an exciting new chapter in the story of this school that has been in the works for several months. Please join me in praying for @DrMarkAHowell and Carmen.

Grateful to see the Supreme Court make this decision. Important on so many levels.

🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court, in an 8-1 vote, holds that Colorado’s ban on “conversion therapy,” violates the First Amendment and counselors' free speech rights. This is a significant victory for truth and common sense and unties the hands of Christian counselors in speaking life and truth from Scripture. Quoting from the opinion, here are a few highlights: 🔸 "The First Amendment protects the inalienable right of every individual to decide for himself 'how best to speak.' 🔸“'Viewpoint discrimination' represents an even more 'egregious form' of content regulation from which governments must nearly always 'abstain.'" 🔸"As applied to Ms. Chiles, Colorado’s law regulates the content of her speech and goes further to prescribe what views she may and may not express, discriminating on the basis of viewpoint." 🔸"History is littered with examples of governments that have sought to manipulate professional speech 'to increase state power,' 'suppress minorities,' and censor ‘unpopular ideas.’” 🔸The First Amendment stands as a bulwark against any effort to prescribe an orthodoxy of views, reflecting a belief that each American enjoys an inalienable right to speak his mind and a faith in the free marketplace of ideas as the best means for finding truth. Laws like Colorado’s, which suppress speech based on viewpoint, represent an egregious assault on both commitments." Read the opinion of the Court here: supremecourt.gov/opinions/25pdf…

The Danbury Institute continues to believe that churches and pastors hold the critically important responsibility in training Christians in biblical worldview. Pastors, pray that God will help you show people how to apply the clear truth of Scripture to their daily lives and perspectives. The Danbury Institute stands ready to support churches in doing exactly that. Thank you, @toddstarnes, for this timely report.
toddstarnes@toddstarnes

A shocking new survey from @George_Barna shows that most American churches are not equipping Christians with a biblical worldview. That explains the moral chaos and rot in our culture. Many American churches are more focused on American Idol worship bands and roasting coffee beans than they are studying God's Word. @ACU_AZ

What has happened to the SBC over the last 6 years? This excellent video tells the story. As a Network, we warned of this decline and sought to bring biblical solutions. We continue to serve congregations by helping them think biblically about how to bring course correction to the SBC. This is why we encourage churches sending messengers to the SBC to vote for @WillyRice. Dr. Rice has been transparent concerning his own journey and realization of the issues. He stands squarely on the opposite side of the establishment class of the SBC that has perpetuated the false narratives that have led to distrust and decline. #SBC26

The rights to life & liberty come from God — not government. Government simply recognizes these truths by codifying them into law. Important distinction.

Like @RodDMartin says in the documentary, this has only begun to scratch the surface.

Every Southern Baptist should watch this and understand what has happened to the SBC, its future capabilities to take the gospel to the nations, and its tithe dollars which largely make that possible.

Many will and do say “we don’t dabble in denominational politics” and “we keep to ourselves and just focus on the gospel mission.” I understand that desire and the desire to stay out of it and just focus on positive things.

Unfortunately, the world is full of evil that must be opposed with truth. Often, the people who stick their necks out to tell the truth will be slandered as evildoers themselves, castigated for ruffling feathers and being “troublemakers,” and labeled “divisive.” It’s not very glamorous to call out sin. It’s not very popular to oppose people who purport to be good guys in public but who behind the scenes fight with claws out and use sharp words like knives, as Proverbs 30:14 describes. Jeremiah understood this well, as did many other prophets of God that were tasked with taking an unpopular message to a hard-hearted people and opposing those appearing to hold the levers of earthly power.

For years, we lived through this systematic take down of America’s largest conservative denomination and had a front row seat to the dismantling in real time. Indeed, as was noted at the end of this documentary, “the fear of man is a snare” as Proverbs says. Fearing man rather than God characterizes perfectly the past 8 years in the SBC. It’s a true shame that we allowed Satan to waste this much of our joint time and tithes that could have been spent furthering the Kingdom and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. Will God allow the SBC to be a strong force for these goals again? Very unclear at the moment. Pride, selfish ambition, fear of man, and unrepented sin stand in the way right now. We should pray for widespread repentance and revival and ask God to once again use our convention for His glory. Only He knows what may be possible, and only He can scrape these ashes back together and use them to bring men and women to salvation on Christ.

Many times in the past decade I have read these words of Jeremiah:

“Do you not fear Me?’ says the LORD.
Will you not tremble at My presence….?”
…..
“But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart; they have revolted and departed,
They do not say in their heart,
‘Let us now fear the LORD our God….”
….
“For among My people are found wicked men;
They lie in wait as one who sets snares…”
…..
“An astonishing and horrible thing
Has been committed in the land:
The prophets prophecy falsely,
And the priests rule by their own power;
And My people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?”

Jeremiah 5:22a, 23, 26a, 30-31

If turning away from the disaster of the last 8 years is appealing, a great place to begin would be releasing the video footage that SBC leaders have already said shows Mike Stone completely innocent of the unfounded accusations made at the Nashville annual meeting. Today would be a great day to begin siding with truth and fearing God, not man.

First, if you’re going to be a keyboard warrior, you should learn to spell milquetoast correctly. Second, perhaps you shouldn’t undermine those also working to see abortion abolished. Winning is about addition, not subtraction, and it would sure be nice to win once in a while. I kindly suggest a better target.

A couple of years ago, CNN chastised @DanburyInst for decrying abortion as “child sacrifice.” But that is the truth. Killing children in the womb on the altar of convenience and cold-hearted preference is child sacrifice. One day we will see an end to abortion in America, and we pray that day is soon.
Ben Zeisloft@BenZeisloft

God is moving among his people to abolish child sacrifice in this nation once and for all!
