@VHASurvivor @SenFettermanPA Problem is coating the reflecting pool doesn’t fix the problem with the circulation system which is the higher cost under the Biden fix. You’re just going to have algae and bird shit on top of a pool costing

@DrDiGiorgio What is the wait in the US for a cancer patient in the US without insurance? Better yet what is the wait with insurance? Between referrals, insurance fights, you are talking months and it is still a “maybe” it’s covered

This is the ultimate midwit healthcare take. No, 32 countries have not “figured out” universal healthcare. The UK has “free” healthcare, and roughly 1 in 3 cancer patients in England still fail to start treatment within 62 days of urgent referral. Canada has “free” healthcare, and the median wait for neurosurgical treatment is around a year. Australia has “free” healthcare, and over half the country still buys private insurance despite paying for a public universal system with their taxes. Switzerland has universal coverage, because residents are required to buy private insurance. There is no government system where benevolent bureaucrats tuck you in at night with a warm blanket and an MRI appointment. The actual lesson from other wealthy countries is not “they figured it out.” America’s system has huge problems. Our prices are insane, insurance markets are distorted, and hospital systems are cartelized. Our regulations make care more expensive than it needs to be. Yet we still guarantee access to even the 8% who don’t have coverage. We give easy routes to qualify for medicaid for those with disabilities. Pretending the rest of the world solved healthcare because they slapped the word “universal” on a rationing scheme is not analysis. It is bumper sticker policy for people who think access means having a card in your wallet while you wait a year to see the doctor you need.
daz@MetamateDaz

Free Universal Healthcare is so complicated and expensive that only 32 of the 33 wealthiest countries in the world have figured it out.

Superintendent of Tom's River will get a $50K raise bringing his pay to an insane $275,000 😱 despite budget problems No offense, this money could be better spent on a couple teachers/staff instead, especially for a school that was just selling trees to keep the doors open jerseyshoreonline.com/toms-river/tom…

On a positive note, seems like hit rates have gotten a lot better. 8-10 hits on average vs the 5-7 in previous sets. Also interesting to note, I do 2 cases 1 trove every set and am often missing between 16-18 legendaries for 4x playsets. In Wilds I am missing 1 legendary for 4x playsets. Only missing 2 cards total for 4x the entire set.

Stand down, Chas. All production costs were paid for by the non-profit, The Great American Road Trip, Inc. No one in my family - including my husband - were paid to do this. We did it for FREE to celebrate America 250 & encourage other Americans to get off couches & screens and spend time together seeing our country. It was filmed in small one and two day stops over the course of seven months. You and I both know that my husband has done more in one year to transform the DOT and ATC than your husband did in over 4 years on the job. I still hope your family also embarks on a civic adventure this summer to celebrate America because to love America, you gotta see America!🇺🇸
Chasten Glezman Buttigieg@Chasten

The same Duffys who threw endless fits on national television when Pete was working from our son's ICU bedside are now bragging about their multi-month, taxpayer-funded family road trip while gas and grocery prices soar for American families because of Trump's war of choice. How much more unfocused, unserious, and out of touch can you be?

🚨HISTORY MADE! Rachel Entrekin just won the Cocodona 250 outright — first woman ever to take the OVERALL title! The 250-mile race from Phoenix to Flagstaff was an absolute beast, and she crushed it in 56:09:48, smashing the previous course record by over 2 hours. 13 minute mile pace for 56 hours! She only slept 3 times the entire race (one 5-min nap + two 7-min naps) and still dropped the entire elite men's field. Absolute legend!

🚨 SECRETARY MARCO RUBIO JUST TRUTH NUKED THE WHOLE WORLD "They could make our gas $8 a gallon and we wouldn't be able to do ANYTHING about it!" "A nuclear-armed Iran could do whatever the HELL they want with the Straits — and there's NOTHING anyone would be able to do about it!" "And that's one of the many reasons, apart from the massive loss of life and a nuclear strike, why Iran can never have a nuclear weapon." "I mean, so this is an example of if they had a nuclear weapon, they closed the Straits and they would tell the world, what are you going to do about it?!" "We have a nuclear weapon, we can attack you with it. That's the world NONE of us want to leave behind." "It won't happen under this President's watch, but some future President and future Americans will have to deal with this. So just one more example by these guys can never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon." He said it perfectly.

Well oil went up $3 today. That means prices at the pump will be $.50 higher tomorrow. And when oil falls back down to $80, pump prices will take a month to retreat. Instant up, slow down. Gas retailers are SCREWING US.

After Hurricane Ian devastated the area in late September 2022, the storm destroyed or severely damaged the only land access bridge to Pine Island, cutting off its residents. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) prioritized emergency repairs. Crews completed a temporary bridge in under three days (work began around October 3–4, and it reopened on October 5–6, 2022), allowing emergency vehicles, supply trucks, and residents to return. DeSantis noted that over 130 trucks were deployed within 24 hours of the request, with round-the-clock work.
