@DKThomp This reminds me of the last presidential campaign where the dems tried to explain why the economy was actually good. Yes, the numbers were good in places that may be good everyone, but the numbers closest to the people were not so it was unconvincing.

There are still a lot of journalists and commentators that I follow who think AI is nothing of much significance—still just a mildly fancy auto complete machine that hallucinates half the time and can’t even think. If you’re in that category: What is something I could write, or show with my reporting and work, that might make you change your mind?

@TimAlberta The best thing I’ve heard recently was about understanding that I can’t control what God does through my good deeds and best intentions. When I knew that applied to my fandom I made me reconsider the weight I put into it. But I’ll still go crazy if the Vikes win 😬

@TimAlberta I feel that. As a Vikings fan, I have often thought about why the pain and torture feels so specifically pointed at me despite all the good will and time I put into my fandom. Why fortunes favored the wrong people. I don’t know how I’ll feel when it falls apart this year…

@whignewtons It’s hard to get past vibes with the court. A 6-3 vibe will trump cases like this that seem obvious. Even excellent breakdowns of the 3-3-3 court will just lead to questions of the missing liberal 3. What would that look like, what cases would they see and how would they vote?

The problem with saying SCOTUS ideologically divided cases are the “big” ones: Court unanimously tosses out challenge against abortion drug mifiprestone. And now it will no longer be considered a big case…bc it wasnt ideologically divided.
