Oof, he takes Sanders to the woodshed.
mike bski@BskiMike22802

Dear Senator Sanders, Oh, this is RICH. This is so perfectly, exquisitely, weapons-grade rich that I had to put down my anatomy exams and just... appreciate it for a moment. The man who got thrown out of a SOCIALIST HIPPIE COMMUNE in Vermont in 1971 — after THREE DAYS — for refusing to do any actual work while everyone else planted, harvested, and hauled water, is out here telling me the OLIGARCHS want to control everything. Three. Days. The communists gave you a longer trial period than most employers give to someone who steals from the register. Here is what Jim Quinn's Law Number Two says, and I want every single person reading this to tattoo it somewhere useful: "If you want to know what liberals are up to, pay attention to what they accuse conservatives of doing." Senator, you OWN THREE HOMES. A Burlington residence. A D.C. townhouse. A $575,000 vacation lake house in North Hero, Vermont — purchased in 2016, the same year you were touring the country telling college students the system is rigged. Your net worth sits somewhere between $2.5 and $3 million. You have pocketed over $2.5 MILLION in book royalties since 2011. That elevator is clearly not stuck between floors for you, is it. And then — THEN — during your "Fighting Oligarchy Tour" with AOC, you spent over $550,000 in CAMPAIGN FUNDS on PRIVATE JET TRAVEL. Half a million dollars on luxury jets to lecture working Americans about the dangers of wealth. When Fox News caught you boarding a Bombardier Challenger 604 — a jet that runs up to $15,000 PER HOUR — you did not apologize. You did not even blink. You looked directly into the camera and said, and I am quoting this verbatim because it is the most accidentally honest thing you have ever said: "You think I'm gonna be sitting on a waiting line at United?" Senator. THAT IS OLIGARCHIC THINKING. That is TEXTBOOK "the rules apply to you people, not to me." That is the elevator music of every single billionaire you have spent 35 years pretending to oppose. In a battle of wits with your own stated beliefs, you showed up completely unarmed. Thirty-five years in Congress. You know what your personal legislative output looks like? Eight bills passed. EIGHT. In three and a half DECADES. That works out to 0.23 bills per year. I have produced more graded anatomy exams in a single semester. Your two greatest solo legislative achievements — the ones with your name on top, the thing YOU actually DID — are the naming of a post office in Danville, Vermont, and the naming of a post office in Fair Haven, Vermont. You named. Two. Post offices. You are as useful as a screen door on a submarine when it comes to actually passing legislation, but you want me to believe you are the vanguard of the working class. That sounds like a YOU problem. Quinn's Law #25: "Liberals are great at giving away other people's money." You have been living PROOF of that law for 35 years. You give away everyone else's money — from a vacation home on a lake — while spending half a million on jets because you are far too important to wait in line with the taxpayers funding your lifestyle. You want to talk about oligarchs controlling the media? You have been IN the media for four decades. You just finished a $75 million documentary. You have a book deal. You have a podcast. You HAVE the megaphone and you are using it to tell people that other people have the megaphone. The gene pool really needed a lifeguard for THAT particular reasoning. I am a high school science teacher in Northeast Ohio. I support a family of six on a teacher's salary. I am not particularly impressed by a man with three houses, $550,000 in jet receipts, and 0.23 bills per year telling me he stands with the working class. More famous than wise, Senator. More famous than wise. The hippie commune knew it in 72 hours. How long is it going to take everyone else? IF you agree: LIKE this post so the algorithm shows it to people who need to read it. SHARE this. COMMENT below — do YOU think a man with three homes and a half-million dollar private jet habit speaks for working Americans? Tell me. And if you want MORE of this — the data, the history, the science, the stories — JOIN Bski's Classroom community on X or YouTube. But what do I know — I am only a science teacher who can actually do math, a retired Army combat medic who knows what genuine sacrifice looks like, and apparently one of the few people left who finds it suspicious that the most vocal enemy of oligarchy just cannot bring himself to wait in line at the airport with the rest of us. @JoJoFromJerz @GuntherEagleman @catturd2 #MAGA #Veterans #Trump

Al Gore lost in 2000 as a centrist. John Kerry lost in 2004 as a centrist. Hillary lost in 2016 as a centrist. Kamala lost 2024 as a centrist. If we’re going to win the 2026 midterms, we must abandon centrism all together. If the Democratic Party is to survive we must go left

@PanoplyTactical @hannahhill_sc Dumb compromises fuck us in the long run. I would call that a dumb compromise. There is no limiting principle. The 2A applied to ALL implements that facilitated a martial purpose at the time of the founding. It still does today. Cannons were protected. So are beltfeds & mortars

So you have to see this in context. The 5th Circuit is the only circuit to actually properly apply Bruen to federal gun control, and the Supreme Court's only (to date) post-Bruen case was to smack that down. And it's not just guns - SCOTUS has slapped them down on a variety of issue. The 5th knows as well as we do that this Supreme Court will not end the machine gun ban, regardless of whether or not they should under a proper history-and-tradition analysis. The Roberts Court does not have the political will to legalize machine guns. In my opinion, trying to press that issue is dangerous. When you force the question with a Supreme Court politically motivated to poke holes in its own Bruen framework to preserve sacred cows, you get rulings like Rahimi and cause significant harm to more mainstream gun rights fights. I know no one on here wants to hear this. But y'all have GOT to stop looking to the courts to make up for legislative actions. Sometimes you can, but very often you can't, and you risk making things worse if you press bad fights in the courts.
Eric W.@EWess92

Does the federal machine gun ban violate the Second Amendment? 10-7, the Fifth Circuit declines to take the question. But two no votes agree that it probably isn't and want to wait for a future case. That would reverse the outcome. Judge Willett and Chief Judge Elrod are the two

What? The whole issue is that the registry is closed. If they found that unconstitutional via Bruen and left the tax most people wouldn't care. FRTs are a functional work around but it's annoying I have to install and use a work around. Miller said SBSs had no proven militia use but that absolutely cannot be said of an M4, SAW or M249.

@4zGhi @hannahhill_sc I think you could get Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch and maybe Kavanaugh but Barrett and Roberts are really doubtful and no way the progressive three go in favor of machine guns. It adheres way to close to the original intent of of the 2nd.

@hannahhill_sc It is dangerous. Machine guns would lose SCOTUS 8-1 or 9-0. But on the theme of reliance on the courts, we’re getting killed in the states since Bruen, a trend that shows every sign of accelerating. If not the courts, where can the next victims of AWBs seek redress?

It's easy to get lost in all the abstraction when talking about what the role of government should be. A helpful technique is to remember that everything government does is ultimately done at gunpoint. Imagine yourself literally holding the gun. Would I use a gun to stop a murder? Absolutely. Would I rob my neighbor at gunpoint to pay for a library? Ehh suddenly that sounds pretty immoral.

Weird how all these communist governments turn into dictatorships. Like every time. I wonder what is broke in the model that that keeps happening. The Nazi's, Pinochet and Franco were leftists, fascism is from the left. Just look at where Franco, Mussolini and Hitler (and his high command) came from. They came from communist groups in their respective countries. They preached the same communist bullshit but wrapped it in a national flag instead of a world wide movement. There movement to the right was about three steps at best. There was nothing conservative about them. They were not in any way trying to preserve the current power structures in their countries. Ditto with Putin he is trying to resurrect the USSR, although I suppose in that case it is kind of conservatism because he is trying to conserve the old order he grew to power in. I'm not sure on the Shah although I find it hard to believe he was worse than the Islamic Republic that replaced him, given the tens of thousands the IR has killed over the past few years.

@ScottM16A4 @GerryBlevins @gowthamn384514 @rpondiscio That's a dictatorship, a government system not an economic system short bus. Capitalism has been used to do the same by your standards, Pinochet, Batista, Park Chung Hee, Shah of Iran, Putin, Nazi, Franco, and every right wing dictatorship and banana republic that exist.

Light a candle in memory of the Voting Rights Act, which died today, aged 60. Sure, Section 2 wasn't officially struck down. But it might as well have been. It's now useless to minority voters under virtually all circumstances.
