I believe that’s the protocol. They shoot at least 5 or more - to make sure the suspect is down without potential to get up and pull out a firearm and shoot. The body is a curious thing, suspects can sustain more than one bullet and still be active. They don’t always go down with one shot. If you’ve seen other police video cams…they shoot at least 5 to 10 rounds in quick succession to put down the threat as assuredly as possible. Police do not treat guns lightly. It just takes on shot to kill or maim a person for life. Never point anything that looks like a weapon at an officer with a gun. Likely will be shot and killed..
