Jesse Derry has been taken to hospital as a precaution following his first-half substitution during today’s #PL game against Nottingham Forest. Jesse is conscious, talking and undergoing precautionary checks. We wish him a speedy recovery and thank the medical staff for their swift response.

@jessalinecaine Exactly the right question to be asked. The feedback from Staffordshire County Council on the Pothole Pro Machines was very mixed.

I understand the point, but have Reform UK councils saved taxpayers money using JCBs for potholes ? JCB claims around 8 minutes and £30 per repair Traditional repairs can take 30+ minutes and cost at least double Lincolnshire council says repairs were 5% more efficient .

Something doesn’t add up here.

Any evidence of “corrupt councillors” regarding highway contracts, or is this an attempt at a total distraction away from the fact that the government that you served in, didn’t provide enough funding to local authorities?
Rt Hon Nadine Dorries@NadineDorries

Every council in the country should be using the @JCBagriculture machine - instead, contracts are given by corrupt councillors to small companies, some for 20 year or more terms. That’s why the roads are in the state they are in!

A sobering read. I remember Reform railing against debt in local government in the local elections 2025, but one year on, just look. By comparison the last Conservative administration (21-25) that I was apart of @NottsCC borrowed £0 and debt was falling.
Joey Gwinn 🇬🇧@JoeyGwinnSights

Last May, Reform promised voters they’d end council borrowing… In just one year, Reform Councils have committed to take out £2.3 BILLION in new debt. No wonder it’s disappeared from their leaflets. Makes you wonder which of this years promises will be gone by the next. Read: conservativehome.com/2026/05/01/joe…

@jessicaelgot A stand along by-election in the current political climate. Risky to say the least.

EXC - Andy Burnham has a credible plan to return to Westminster “within weeks”, allies say. He is expected to use a byelection fight to set out an agenda for government. His allies will ask Starmer to set a timetable for departure - and to potentially stay as Foreign Secretary

@jason_connolly @BBCMOTD There wasn’t a great deal between the sides tbh. It had the feel about it that the game on the night was going to be decided by individual error rather than a momentum of genius. Some may say both sides lacked quality but I look at it that both sides cancelled each other out.

@ScottPCarlton @BBCMOTD Yeah as soon as I saw the replay of it, I thought he was going to walk. That’s not even with my Villa lens on either, I would think the same had it been McGinn on Jesus, for example. Sets up an interesting second leg nonetheless.

"Where is VAR?" Unai Emery didn't hold back after Elliot Anderson wasn't sent off in the Europa League semi-final first leg...

@jason_connolly @BBCMOTD Tbh I thought VAR escalated it but as you say the ref wasn’t called over. At the time I will be honest I thought Anderson was in trouble. Perhaps watching back maybe yellow. The ref did let a lot go.

@ScottPCarlton @BBCMOTD They’re not in the least bit comparable though. One was a studs up follow through which landed square on an ankle, the other was a bit of shove from behind. While I don’t necessarily believe it should have been a red, the ref should have been sent to look, imo.

@NFFC I went Omari as i thought he was at but if Morato was on the list I would have chosen him. That said can we have a video of Anderson’s nutmegs please 🙏
