In no way the issue with nades was availability. Frags have too short fuze time, too much range and too much dmg. This just makes people that have 100s in their Vaults feast while everyone else suffers lol.

@vesseloftauceti The discussions need to happen closer to release of season 2. Once people get the information on it, people will not want to wait for weeks. If they talk about it too early, then what else is there to talk about just before release? You need the hype levels high.

I think Bungie should probably start to ramp up discussions about Season 2 for Marathon sooner rather than later. Season 2 is probably going to be the real test and I hope they have the foresight to see that waiting until last minute is not the right decision to talk about what comes next

Checking in on Marathon's player base. I think it could have been a much more successful game if they hadn't gone with the tired extraction formula. There's a big appetite for high-quality single player games, it could have had a proper campaign/story with more typical MP modes.

Marathon has yet again softly hinted at a multi year long plan for the game Creative Director Julia Nardin says they already know "where we want to take the story over the next few years" Bungie had indirectly suggested a similar notion over a month ago saying "We are in for the long haul with Marathon"

@PaulTassi The thing is, it doesn’t need to be, and an extraction shooter logically fits with the current storyline if you read the lore and pay attention to what’s going on

So, 21 years then. With the original Marathon being nothing like this anyway

Marathon went a little too hardcore and it was one of its biggest mistakes. One thing that should have never happened is releasing a hardcore extraction shooter with no form of a safe pocket. No other game in the genre has done it. With all the hate and things working against it they should not have attempted to reinvent the wheel. I promise you if they had some form of safe pocket its outcome would be different. In this day and age where everyone cheats and exploits because they suck and hate losing you have to have a way for people to get wins even in their loses. If I was @MarathonDevTeam I would implement a safe pocket immediately for season 2

@nickjcal Is your stance that matchmaking in online PVP games does not degrade with 17k or less players at any given time? The algorithms only function correctly when there's a healthy population to pull from. The more folks struggle to find a game, the less they will play.

The peak player count over 24 hours was 17K... that doesn't mean only 17K people played the game that day. My god lol, this is not hard stuff to understand. Nobody's saying the game is as healthy as Bungie wants it to be. But using these charts by the minute is stupid.

@PaulTassi Come on bruh just let it go, Marathon is great. It’s made for people who like extraction shooters that don’t hold your hand every step of the way. Give the game a chance people, don’t listen to the bots and butthurt Destiny players that hate the game because it’s not Destiny 3.

@_trundler Whenever I tried to play anything all the games had 0 player count besides like 2 games that had 12. Gmod on the other hand there’s thousands. Unless people port there gmod gamemodes over its going to be dead for awhile.
