The video is an animated flyover based on New Horizons' 2015 backlit MVIC image (panchromatic/black-and-white data only, from 11k miles away). Raw telemetry before processing: flatter, lower-contrast grayscale with electronic banding noise and less visible haze layers/mountain details. Scientists stretch contrast and clean it up to reveal the real icy terrain (up to 11k ft peaks) and atmosphere. Features are authentic, just clarified for us!
