Doctor Doom isn’t a Tony Stark variant he IS Tony Stark🚨 Marvel has trained us to think one way. Same face? Variant. So when Robert Downey Jr. appears as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday with Tony Stark’s face, everyone will instantly assume: multiverse variant. That’s expected. That’s boring. Here’s the twist:- Doom isn’t a variant at all. My theory is that Doomsday will NOT explain why Doom looks like Tony. The mask comes off, we see the face, and Marvel lets the audience sit with it. The real answer comes later in Avengers: Secret Wars. After ruling Battleworld as God Emperor Doom, he’s defeated and stripped of his powers. Instead of dying, he’s reborn as a baby and sent to Earth-616 in the 1970s (possibly by He Who Remains). Howard and Maria Stark adopt him. That child grows up to be Tony Stark. Meaning:- Doom doesn’t look like Tony. Tony exists because of Doom. It reframes everything Tony’s obsession with control, Ultron, even his sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. Doom falls, is reborn as Iron Man, saves the universe… and the multiverse eventually collapses again, leading to Doom’s rise. Not variants.A closed time loop.Identity over multiverse logic. If this is real, Marvel didn’t just cast RDJ for shock value they turned Iron Man into Doom’s redemption arc before Doom even appeared. Full circle.
