@InternetH0F I bought a cow for 800 then sold it for 1000.
I bought a horse for 1100 then sold it for 1300.
Profit = 400
The fact that it's the same cow doesn't matter.

Patrik Laine - "I was tired of losing and just giving up when it’s December to start focusing on next year"
Also Laine - plays his last game in the 23/24 season in *checks notes* December
I guess he prefers when teammate give up in December to focus on their next team?

Can't wait for #CBJ to draft a Russian defenseman that shuttles back and forth from the AHL and never plays
Oh wait, we already have David Jiricek 😂

@holland_tom Good luck with the new material hunt - may take some time…

@gaganbiyani I've found that instructors answering other people's questions is super valuable while learning. There's often that feeling of "I'm glad you asked that, cause I was also confused about that, but I didn't realize that's what I was confused about until you asked"

Proud to share some *insane* data: Maven courses have 14x more retention than video-based courses (aka "MOOCs") from companies like Coursera and Udemy.
From enrolled to Week 1, Maven courses have a 93% activation rate. MOOCs have a 39% activation rate. That's a 2.5x difference.
From Week 1 to Week 2, Maven courses have a 96% retention rate. MOOCs have a 16% retention rate. That's a 6x difference.
From enrolled to Week 2, Maven course have an 89% retention rate. Week 2 retention of MOOCs is just 6%. That's a whopping 14x difference!
Why are Maven's cohort-based courses so much more engaging?
- There's a live instructor who has been vetted for their industry experience
- You take the course at the same time as a community of peers who are in the same position as you
- There's interactive projects and discussions to help you learn
14x is a staggering difference and we're quite proud of the effectiveness we've seen of Maven courses.

@seanpatward @buildbuyback @airtable I've only dabbled, but air table is essentially a relational database that looks like a spreadsheet. I think it would be perfect for this
English

We need a system that has companies, contacts and properties as separate categories. And you can link all three together. For example, Prologis is a company, the 38 contacts we have there would be linked to them and the 100 properties they own would also be linked to them. My understanding is you can’t do that with Airtable but I could be wrong.
English

Cannot believe we are here again but our team is in the market for a CRM…again.
We need something that can relate companies to contacts to properties and tie them all together.
We do NOT need it for deal workflow. We do not need anything as robust as Salesforce.
Just need to keep notes, make lists and send batch emails. Need to integrate with Microsoft suite of products.

@DanJFriedman I mean, that's the state flag of Ohio wrapped around the star. If anything, the state of Ohio needs a rebrand

32. Columbus Blue Jackets #CBJ
Tells me absolutely nothing about the team. If they didn’t exist and the Capitals made this their new logo, would that not work? It’s a mark that’s completely devoid of any character.

@DanWood_Adver @corinthianjo_ @Yoell40386579 @andyhersh @NoContextHumans Cash is fungible. Meaning, it doesn't matter which $100 bill was used to make the purchase. If the thief pocketed that bill, then used a different $100 bill, would anything change?
English

@corinthianjo_ @Yoell40386579 @andyhersh @NoContextHumans With 100 that it had just lost that was presumably handed over to pay for other goods by someone else previously or was used as a float, so the store has lost £100 in goods paid for in a previous transaction, or float, 70 pounds worth of goods and then 30 in change - 200.
English

@NoContextHumans $100 bill was the only thing actually stolen. The $70 of goods and the $30 change was a legal purchase. What if the man used a different $100 bill to make the purchase, or a different person made that $70 purchase?
English

@BR_OpenIce The regular season has little consequence beyond in or out. NBA style playin system may fix this. 7v8 winner is in, loser plays winner of 9v10 for seed 8. Good teams try to stay in top 6. Meh teams will be in it til the end rather than playing meaningless games
English

Waiting for Anaheim result. They're down a goal late vs. LAK.

@Aportzline Can you break down the scenarios for tomorrow now with a regulation loss?
