When Turkish-American Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, a new graduate from the University of Washington, was shot in the head by Israeli snipers for saying “Don’t kill children”, it was barely reported.

Despite the two-week ceasefire in the Middle East, there are significant movements of American troops towards the Middle East C-17 aircraft maintain a constant air bridge, through which additional forces and resources are deployed to the Middle East.

The Pentagon summoned the Pope's ambassador, told him the United States has the military power to do "whatever it wants," and warned that the Church better take its side. They even invoked the Avignon Papacy, a dark chapter in history when a government used military force to bend the Church to its will. So where exactly does this end? If the Pope refuses to fall in line, what's the next move, bomb the Vatican? thedailybeast.com/trump-official…

I24NEWS @inon_yttach: The Israeli cabinet quietly approved the construction of 34 new settlements in Judea and Samaria—an unprecedented number approved at once, and during ongoing military operations. Among the approved locations are areas within Palestinian enclaves in northern Samaria, as well as remote points that even the military rarely reaches. In fact, this marks the largest single approval of settlements by any cabinet to date. Until now, 69 settlements had been approved across numerous decisions; this move brings the total to 103 in one step.

On this day in 1948, the Jews slaughtered some 107 Palestinians in the Deir Yassin massacre. This atrocity played a central role in the Nakba, as Palestinians in other villages reasonably feared they might suffer the same fate, which precipitated their flight. There exists a small industry of denial around Deir Yassin, with one Eliezer Tauber having even written a book about it titled The Massacre That Never Was. The most respected Israeli scholars, however, agree that the massacre took place. (Unsurprisingly, all contemporary documents on the events remain classified to this day.) A more mainstream Zionist position is that the events in Deir Yassin were unique, uncharacteristic of Zionist troop behavior and little relevant to the outcome of the war. This is roundly false. Deir Yassin was by no means the only instance of mass murder committed by the Jewish troops: other massacres, like those at Safsaf or Dawayma, took place later on in the war, contributing to depopulate Israel of most of its Arabs. Deir Yassin remains, however, the most symbolic Zionist atrocity in the 1948 war, giving the lie to any claim of morality regarding the birth of the state of Israel. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deir_Yass…
