Games free of stress and frustration are cool and are here for a good reason.
But I think games of the 80's/90's wired the brains of gamers back then to endurance, frustration tolerance and attention span. Unlike today.

- memorizing level layouts / maps
- figuring out game mechanics without tutorial
- READING text information
Not everything was better back then. But it taught us some skills that seem to be lost today.

Imagine trying to explain to anyone from Gen Z or younger what "waiting" meant in the early days of gaming... We didn't have lag. We just "pressed play on tape", made a sandwich, ate it, came back... and still waited another couple of minutes to then play (fingers crossed it didn't crash during the loading sequence). Waiting seems like a long lost skill.

they just changed some button layout on a emulator, these guys complain that modern gamers are picky but they themselves scream for the smallest things

@kawoshiki I don't see how there's any advantage to this. Moving a horizontal camera with shoulder buttons feels really natural and you keep your thumb on the face buttons.
