I started playing destiny by chance, it was one of my picks from a bargain bucket at my local game shop. I always loved fps games, I always loved RPGs. Funnily enough I wasn't an xbox gamer so didn't have the same experience of the halo franchise like many others did. After that insane year 2 update install on my ps4 I booted it up for the first time. From the moment I pulled the trigger, saw those numbers dance in the screen I was hooked. Luckily enough I had a few mutuals on PSN catch me online and they asked 'wait you play destiny?!' It wasn't long before I teamed up with groups to do some of the activities before finally doing my first raid in VoG. I was up to 6am glued to my screen playing. I was hooked. By the time D2 arrived my gaming circle expanded to include a few streamers who with my chaotic energy, pointed me to give it a go myself and before I knew it I was hitting the go live button on my PlayStation most times I gamed. Little did I know that, with my passion (and let's be honest my absolute addiction) to the game shown through in my streams. The movement was small at first but as I grew I took to twitter and other streams always looking for people as passionate as I was. It launched my streaming goals skyward and by the time covid lockdowns hit, I was in full swing with a core community of Destiny players and like minded gamers. It went on to become my full time job for almost 5 years as I worked out what I wanted in my professional life. All this playing a game I loved. The time I've spent, the friendships I've made, the adventures it's led me on both IRL and Ingame have been nothing short of the best times of my life. Destiny gave me my platform, was the game my community was built on and offered incredible opportunities over the years. It's a sad day but even now, I haven't played since February 20th 2026, probably the longest I've went without even logging in to check eververse or see what's been going on. I feel and like so many others, despite this being sooner than we'd hoped, it's the right thing to do and allow bungie to invest in future projects (big cope we see a new destiny or destiny like project). I wasn't there from the start but I'll sure as hell be there for the send off. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of it. Through my highest highs and staggering lows I'm grateful I got to spend such amazing time in this world created by the folks at Bungie, inhabited by now life long friends. Here's to the next chapter. ✌️💚
