When a Chicago constituent faced losing their job after scheduling issues with USCIS, my office stepped in to help. We worked with USCIS to secure a new biometrics appointment and successfully requested expedited processing of their DACA and work authorization renewal. They are now able to continue serving young people in our community. If you're having trouble with a federal agency, my office is here to help. Visit casten.house.gov/services/help-… to get in touch.

On US-European relations, what it will take to restore them and (implicitly, as I wrote this a few weeks ago) perhaps why Rubio is so anxious about the ICC. thehill.com/opinion/intern…

8. Anyway, worth reading the whole thing. It’s dry, numerate, non-political stuff. But the subtext is anything but. Political choices is what got us here. /fin

7. Later the Fed comes right out and says that - other than buying AI stuff - US tariff and foreign policy is the cause of slowing global growth. This is not the way you make our allies happy.

Really interesting stuff in the Federal Reserve’s July 2026 Monetary Policy Report that is very damning for the Trump administration’s policies. A thread I may not complete as I sit in the Warsh hearing today: federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy…

Sen. Roger Marshall is not an intelligent man. This is painful to watch. I have no idea why he agrees to go on CNN and make clear to everyone that he's a fool.

Congress has the power to restore balance among our three branches of government. In light of the Supreme Court's recent rulings, it is in the best interest of our democracy, and the country as a whole that Congress exercise that authority.

I share this not out of praise or condemnation, and not even about him specifically. There are many like him in DC. They didn't change when Trump came into power. They were always moths. Pretty. Attention grabbing. But always veering towards the brightest flame.

A colleague (who knew him much better than I did) once described Graham to me as "a moth who is drawn to flames". McCain, Trump, probably others too. What you think of him depends largely on which flame he was near when you engaged with him.

Here's how Congress should move to ensure that our three branches remain able to check each other - and to force SCOTUS to be the "temple of law" it claims to be rather than the political hatchet shop Roberts has led it to become. thehill.com/opinion/judici…

Nothing good will come of the Slaughter decision. Congress insulated these agencies from politics for good reasons. And a SCOTUS that infringes on Congressional power compels as a coequal branch to punch back. utilitydive.com/news/former-fe…
