@emollick I find the most useful application of persona adoption today is to anticipate how different types of professionals or backgrounds might react to something I’m about to put in front of them. You can come better prepared to answer questions or spot flaws earlier by doing this.

We tested one of the most common prompting techniques: giving the AI a persona to make it more accurate We found that telling the AI "you are a great physicist" doesn't make it significantly more accurate at answering physics questions, nor does "you are a lawyer" make it worse.

@theauroraguy @NorthernSkies5 @J_master_caster @Vincent_Ledvina Thanks! I think I need to pay closer attention to the red/GOES-19 line as it’s closer to my longitude on the east coast. I’m thinking 2:50 UTC - 2:56 UTC (10:50-10:56pm ET) was my window. I didn’t get my eyes to the sky until 10:57pm and couldn’t see or capture on camera.

@SeanHenri @NorthernSkies5 @J_master_caster The thing with reading the GOES magnetometer is that you have to have it in your hand to see. Maybe @Vincent_Ledvina can develop an app that will calculate the growth phase and provide an alert.

I wondered if perhaps I was 30 seconds too late or something. I’m still semi new at reading the GOES magnetometer. Are you able to pinpoint exactly when the substorms impact ended?

I wish more people were taking seriously the possibility that @ezraklein and the leadership of the AI labs are raising: that AGI is a real possibility in the near future. You don't have to buy it yourself, but leaders & policymakers need to consider the possibility it is true.
