@StephenM I never donated to a presidential campaign in life except for this one because I believed he could make all these promises happen. Calling what your constituents want as "obscure" is not going to win your case. If this isn't done right, Republicans will lose the majority in 2026!

@StephenM I don't think they are obscure reasons. Our 2nd Amendment RIGHT is not an obscure reason. We were sold on "no tax on tips" and "no tax on overtime." Not a halfass token of those promises. People that have never voted Republican in their life were swayed by these promises.

Mr. Vice President, we have the votes to pass a historic restoration of our 2nd Amendment rights & gut the National Firearms Act of 1934.
But, the Parliamentarian—an unelected bureaucrat—unilaterally blocked this GOA-backed provision.
Please, overrule her & then pass the bill!

I’ve seen many criticisms of the bill, and most of them fail a very basic test: could those criticisms get 50 votes? As the president told me earlier today, for a good idea to become policy it has to have the votes. Without the votes it’s a useless idea on a piece of paper. Especially considering that if the OBBB fails, taxes go up, and ICE doesn’t get its enforcement help. The baseline here is not the status quo. The baseline is taxes go up in a few months and a lot of our progress at the border stops. Pass the bill. Pass the bill.

@Droodog127 @WhiteHouse I have called so many different Congressmen's offices over the last couple of months over this issue. Never receiving a call back from my reps only speaking to staff. It is beyond frustrating how the 2A community gets crapped on.

@SteveScalise We want the original language for both the HPA and Short Act in the bill. Removing the tax because you think that will pacify us is completely wrong thinking. There is no reason that there should be a tax OR registry on these items for law abiding citizens.
