James Wood got a bad jump on that Dominic Smith sinking liner to right, then made it worse trying to throw behind Smith at first base, an unforced error. And then Jake Irvin hung a curveball to Mike Yastrzemski, and suddenly it's a 3-3 game in the 5th.

@DmVsports550 @GrantPaulsen 100% agree, the problem is Wood is a Boras client. Only chance to sign him long term is if he demands he wants to stay like Strasburg did. If the team doesn’t sell this will keep happening unfortunately

Getting into the cycle of trading good young players for a ton of prospects is not something I would want to do, you trade Soto for a bunch of prospects, then things are finally looking optimistic and then you trade those good players from that trade for another round of prospects just a few years later… your telling the fans to never buy a jersey again and if these next round of prospects turn out good guess what we’re trading them too and the cycle continues

CJ Abrams is about to win NL Player of the Week. I still think it's very possible he's traded this offseason but I do think he's made it nearly impossible to move him at the deadline. Would be a really hard thing for the team to explain away in a few days.

Dylan Crews looked like he had a bead on Ben Rice's drive to the wall in left-center. He didn't quite get there before slamming into the wall. Two runs score. Nats down 4-3 in the 8th.

Nats get on the board in the 3rd thanks to James Wood's leadoff double and Curtis Mead's subsequent single. But the run scored on a first-pitch 6-4-3 DP by Dylan Crews, which is not what he was looking for. Regardless, it's 1-1.
