@glynjamin3 100%! The amount of times an athlete(‘s) is held up for “who they are” or “their record” or “what they can usually do” is poisonous.

@SeanRabbitt The sport’s credibility is being destroyed by the persistent inconsistency/poor quality of judging.

Experts debating placements, normal. But when casual viewers are flooding TikTok/Instagram/Twitter questioning a result because they can clearly see a winner & the result says otherwise, that’s not just opinion, its a disconnect that hurts the sport’s credibility & fan growth.😕

I enjoyed seeing Keira Hilbelink skate her best FS of her comeback season just now, landing a high 3F+2T, 3Lo & 3S in the 1st part of her Beauty & the Beast (wearing a yellow dress of course!😊). Final 5 next, incl. her older sister, Maile: ijs.usfigureskating.org/leaderboard/re… #SkateNQSFinals

Worlds Positive Thoughts: 1) @Kirsten_MT and Chris best commentators! 2) Incredible to see completely sold out crowds for every event! 3) The new high-tech style boards and k&c were great! 4) Team USA delivered 💪🏻🇺🇸 5) The sportsmanship was top tier and made me proud of my sport!

Not that anyone asked, but in my opinion commentary should be short and to the point, complimentary or straight forward, not negative or over analytical. People want to enjoy the performance of skating, they don’t care if a jump is “cheated” they want to see people land or fall.

@SeanRabbitt As a skating fan, I would like MUCH less talking during the performance. I don't need a play by play. Jumps are generally replayed while we wait for scores. That's the time to tell em what was q, or under, or otherwise problematic. Explain those things for sure, but after.

@taytayransom Right?! Listen, I don’t like to talk about me honestly, but I was team USA top 10 4x blah blah blah but I grew a fan base 10x bigger than people on the podium through, much of which I did through social media. In my opinion, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to grow our sport.

@SeanRabbitt I got you. :) I totally agree. And yes, that would for sure be amazing and increase interest in the sport in the US for sure.

@taytayransom It cost nothing to do that and if you have 10 fans and I have 20 fans and ellie melanin has 100,000 fans well we just got 30 more fans. The point is in this day and age we’re all about inclusivity right? So why not showcase everyone! You might like skater 15 more than skater 2!

Watched the pairs on @peacock and props to @AshWagner2010 and @Ben_Agosto for commenting well, they kept the comments short, and just let the skaters skate and did full explanations at the end during bows, replays, waiting for scores! Bravo!!!

@SeanRabbitt @shoseko The best is @Mark_Hanretty particularly when he is commenting alone. Insightful, positive, and most important *brief* during the program. And he doesn’t have to explain every single thing like how to read the score box or what a good score is.
