By now you can see we're leaning heavily into @Solana - not just because of its speed and low fees, but because the design of the network is the perfect fit for the next generation of digital experiences we plan on bringing to life in the coming months. It all starts with the bridge, to expand the paw print of our collections, and make them compatible with everything coming up next. Because the backbone of KillaGames will be the staked Killaverse assets. Similar to a proof of stake crypto, where validators stake tokens to secure the network and validate transactions I believe nft collections with staked assets also work in an indirect way to "secure" the collections. The action of staking is a commitment to holding. This helps to solidify/reinforce the accuracy of a collection's value at any given time. But the incentive structures for most nft staking programs are all fucked up. Most of the time they just result in farm and dump. Back in 2022, we re-invented how staking was done. We did it by making the rewards actually useful within the ecosystem, and making the whole experience fun. Especially the ongoing metadata updates showing your characters in different scenarios as part of the overall storyline. (shout to @MemoAngeles_KB for absolutely crushing more than 120 different images & scenarios for those experiences.) But - as fun and engaging as this all was, do you know what it did? After a while it made the ecosystem overly complex. And even though we produced one of the most successful and utility-packed open editions of all time, with over a year worth of actual real utility (using to claim some of the rarest cub traits, burning for gold editions of Memo's art, and more) This too, complicated the ecosystem even further. And it's for this reason we've been working for months on identifying, finding, and engineering ways of providing the most value possible to stakers of Killaverse assets on Solana. Without overly complicating the ecosystem. It really all comes down to 3 things. Staking Gaming Rewards These 3 mechanics will work together to create a flywheel which naturally grows the ecosystem. But the key to it all, is distribution. Our goal is to create distribution systems that drive growth to each of these 3 key pillars, which the flywheel will amplify. For example: Last Degen Standing is just one of the things we were planning to build on ETH, but with the price action, transaction speed and costs, we realized it just wasn't gonna work. Now that we're able to take advantage of Solana's speed and low transaction costs, we're re-working the economics of it, and are aiming to launch some time in Q2. (suggest being bridged and staked to take full advantage) It's based on one of our most popular games: Monster Merge, and we're modifying it to include some really fun web3 game mechanics. It will be web-based. More about this and some of the other stuff we're working on, coming soon.
