There's obviously a lot of anxiety going around in the UX community at the moment. I've been shocked at the number of people that have signed up for my new free email course on the subject of AI and shrinking UX teams. Since getting laid off last November, things have been pretty tough financially and emotionally, but we got through it. I'm now pleased to say I start a new job tomorrow, designing for an AI powered marketing platform. One thing I have noticed is how, despite everyone's diversity and inclusion policies, ageism is very real! Also, the ghosting in the tech job market is horrible. It should be mandatory for CEOs to go through the recruitment process every few months and to see what a fucking shit show it really is. If you're in the same boat just keep on keeping on. A lot of what I was doing with Claude Code and Figma MCP can now be done directly in Figma Agents. Even with pretty vague prompts, I'm getting solid output with variable mapping and reuse of existing components. Nice 👌
