L’affaire Covenant a secoué Bittensor cette semaine 🌪️ Beaucoup de bruit. Beaucoup de FUD. Mais en réalité, c’est probablement positif long terme, et largement mal compris par ceux qui ne connaissent pas le fonctionnement du réseau. On récap 👇 1️⃣ Ce qui s’est passé Sam Dare, à la tête de Covenant, gérait 3 subnets majeurs : Templar (SN3), Basilica (SN39) et Grail (SN81). Le 9 avril : il annonce un départ brutal, accuse Const (founder de Bittensor) de “decentralization theatre”, puis vend environ 37 000 TAO en alpha tokens de ses subnets. Résultat : la panique s’installe, le $TAO chute de 15 à 27 % et près de 900 M$ de market cap s’évaporent en quelques heures. Le timing de cette vente massive juste après l’annonce a évidemment choqué la communauté. Beaucoup y voient un « rug pull » sur les holders d’alpha. 2️⃣ Ce qui a circulé vs la réalité Les accusations ont été massivement relayées, souvent sans vérification. Plusieurs narratifs ont émergé : • Const peut couper les émissions à tout moment → En réalité, il ne le peut absolument pas et a simplement vendu une faible part (<1%) de ses propres alpha quelques jours plus tôt. • Sam a été censuré / évincé → En réalité, ses droits n’ont pas été supprimés, seulement une modération temporaire pour éviter la suppression de critiques de la part de Sam. 👉 Bref : du FUD amplifié par l’émotion et la vitesse de X, sur les éléments peu fondés publiés par Sam. 3️⃣ Pourquoi (quasi) rien n’est perdu Le code de Templar est open source et peut être repris à tout moment et a d’ailleurs été forké par d’autres subnets en quelques heures. Surtout, Templar dépend entièrement des mécanismes de Bittensor (mineurs, validateurs, incentives etc..). 👉 Hors du réseau, ce modèle ne tient pas, et reproduire ce qui a été construit reste extrêmement difficile sans Bittensor. D'autant plus que Const a été responsable d'une bonne partie du développement des subnets Covenant. 4️⃣ Pourquoi c’est positif Cet épisode accélère une trajectoire déjà en cours : la décentralisation totale. Il renforce le plan déjà dévoilé par @const_reborn et @shibshib89 lors du Novelty Search du 12 février : fin du contrôle de l’OTF → transition vers Nominated Proof of Stake → modèle multi-organisations et permissionless. En parallèle, de nouvelles discussions émergent sur le vesting des subnet owners et les mécanismes anti-dump. En bref : c'est plus une étape de croissance et Bittensor en sortira probablement plus résilient. Sans oublier que, pendant ce temps, plus de 120 subnets restent actifs, les miners et validateurs continuent d’opérer, et l’innovation ne ralentit pas ⚡️

Let me explain what just happened 👇 5 minutes before the President announced a halt to attacks on Iran… someone placed a $1.5 BILLION bet on stocks going up and dumped $192 million in oil. 5 minutes… These trades were 4 to 6 times larger than anything else in the entire market. Whoever did this wasn’t guessing. You don’t risk $1.5 billion on a hunch. There was zero public indication this announcement was coming. No leaks. No press. Nothing. The only people who knew were in the room when the decision was made. Someone in that room picked up a phone. And within minutes they made more money than most Americans will earn in a thousand lifetimes. In a single trade. On a war that cost you $4+ a gallon gas and $16 billion in tax dollars. American citizens funded this war. Politicians are profiting from it. This is not the first time. Every major announcement from this administration has had massive suspicious trades right before it dropped. Tariff reversals. Policy shifts. War decisions. This is the most blatant insider trading operation in the history of American politics. It’s not even close. And it’s happening over and over in broad daylight. You would go to federal prison for trading on a tip from your cousin. These people are front running war decisions with billion dollar bets and nobody will ever ask a single question. Nobody will be investigated. Nobody will be charged. By tomorrow this will be buried under the next satisfying headline. Just like last time. And the time before that. The game is rigged. And they’re not even trying to hide it anymore…

Les détails du bloc historique : - Numéro du bloc : 939 999. - Timestamp : 9 mars 2026 à 09:22:32. - Mineur : Foundry USA. - Récompense : 3,125 BTC (subvention actuelle). Pourquoi c'est un moment charnière ? La rareté s'accélère : Il ne reste désormais plus que 1 million de BTC à émettre sur les 21 millions prévus. Le temps se dilate : Alors qu'il n'a fallu que 17 ans pour miner les 20 premiers millions, le dernier million prendra environ 114 ans à être extrait, avec une fin de parcours estimée en 2140.
